Dear all,
I am not sure in which section I should post this request and first thought about "Cons, Swindles and Scams" or "Show me the money" . However, nothing seems to fit if someone is looking for a good lawyer. As I usually read the Grand Illusion section and the whole story has to do with magic illusions and an illusion builder, let me try here to get a suggestion from someone. July has arrived, my current projects are done and and I have some time to start what I planned already since a few months. Therefore I am looking for an excellent lawyer in Indiana (best would be in Indianapolis) who is willing and able to file a lawsuit against a company and three private people in the Indianapolis area. Past experience with with lawsuits about ongoing internet fraud, professional scam, swindle, cheating etc. would be preferable. If you know someone you would recommend your suggestion would save me some time to find someone via the internet. To avoid that the one I will go after would try and plant some of his acquaintance on me, I will of course check the suggestion before I move on with that lawyer. So, if you know a good lawyer to represent a group of ca. eight foreigners from different (mainly European) countries who claim to have lost some thousands of US$ each to a US company and citizen in Indiana and want to put a stop on future similar activities, please send me a pm with contact details of the lawyer you would suggest. Thanks in advance and best regards Richard |

If this is the case I think it is, you might want to contact either the IBM Ring in the area, or the local SAM chapter. It is very possible that one of the members might even be an attorney.

There is a statute of limitations on cases like yours. If you wait too long you might not be able to file. I suggest you SNAP to it and get this thing going. ;-)

Richard,
I may have a name of magician in Indianpolis. He was a customer and referred me to someone who helped when my son had difficulties. I will digout the contact info and send it to you. Maybe he can help. Have you tried touch base with Kevin Ridgeway of Living Illusions? He is from Indianpolis and might know someone. Richard

Thank you so much, Richard,
no I did not yet try to contact any magician in the area. Truth is, as a German who does magic just for fun and usually for friends, I am not part of the US magician community and so I do not know others than those who are here in the Grand Illusion or Stage Illusion sections of the Café. That is why I tried this way and I am happy that it worked and I got real good suggestions such as your one now. Have a nice Sunday Richard PS.: Had a nice little show Friday night where I presented among other things my original John Gaughan Origami illusion for first time and the audience was really excited. They could not believe how my wife disappeared and where really puzzled. I should be happy that another purchase of a used Origami went sour, because I can hardly imagine that it would have been similar perfect than the one I was able to get. |
