Ok Guys. Here is a link to some clips of me in action. I've learn't a lot about me from watching these and although I am reasonably happy I have found spots that I need to work on. Let me know what you think.
These are all from the upcoming 2 DVD set,. The Magic of Puppets

Colin,

Very nice work. You held the audience spellbound which is very hard to do with children. Keep up the good work, and we look forward to meeting you on this side of the big pond in about 10 days.

An excellent presentation and the set with the backdrop is set up very nicely to keep the wandering children out of your props.

The table is a nice height; what’s under the skirts?

Thanks for all you kind comments.
It's a 2DVD set about adding puppets to your children's show, with or with out vent. It has lots of magic that you can do with puppets.
Here's the trailer.

It will be £30 from myself or Practical Magic.

Here's a bigger section with Me and Sir Nigel.

Unfortunately due to situations beyond my control I won't be at venthaven this year. Shame as I was really looking forward to it. Maybe next year!

Colin, you may have missed the question I asked, so here it is again.

I thought that was great, Colin. Holding the audience the way you do in the video is masterful (and sure ain't easy!). Careful of shifting from foot to foot. Plant yourself and move with meaning and motivation. Minor point. Wonderful work. Smile

Buzz. The secret under the skirts!
The table stage left is actually two custom made flight cases that stack one on top of the other, in these I keep smaller puppets and magic props. The table stage right is another flight case, this one is more like a road case, it stands on a herculese keyboard stand. The case holds Sir Nigel and Robbie. In performance I have Robbie underneath the case on the floor, I also keep the Axtell Green Machine under there as well, they are well out of the way from prying eyes.

Colin;
It’s a great set up that you have created.

It keeps the kids out and you have everything you need to perform at hand; I already have a special type platform I’m using for Dan that I am not videoing because I don’t want it copied; it emulates one side of table.

If you give permission, I am going to figure out a method of raising the left front table to match the top of the right table height and enclose the sides to construct a fort like you have to keep the wild Indians out.

Buzz, that's fine, I'm sure I'm not the only person who uses two tables. I have them close together so I can get props from the left hand table while I'm opperating the puppet on my right.

If I really want to keep the children out I have a small table to my right, behind my puppet box, that has my music and microphone set up on it and I might put another table to my left to stop them getting in that way!

To make it easier for the DVD I was not going through a PA system at this show, the only mic I had was for the video sound. This meant I had to project more than normal so my lip control suffered a litle bit. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Very nice manipulation, voice differentiation, and comic timing. As well, your own persona is polite, respectful and enthused. I like that. The kids seem happy, engaged and well-entertained. The silent dog eating the hankies is also a winner!

Keep up your great work Colin!
