An astral plane... Perhaps something that could be accessed by projection (which the mentalist could claim to have). Now that's an interesting idea...

Steven Keyl gave me permission to use his excellent justification in Air Writer; they are drawing their letters/numbers/symbols/signs in the air so that they can show another audience member, without whispering (which could be heard or seen). This justification removes the focus from the drawing and shifts it to mind reading.

In the next 24 hours I am going to be receiving requests of anyone who wants to review Air Writer, so if you are interested, and think that you will be able to read, test, and review the material, please PM me. The book is currently 35 pages long.

After the 24 hour period, I will send out copies to a number of selected individuals. I don't think it will be too hard to get a copy as I will be giving away 5 copies for review.

Air Writer, as noted above, enables a spectator to write something in the air while you close your eyes and do not peek at any time. You can then tell them what it is. This can be used for words, book tests, drawing duplications, zodiac signs, numbers, cards, states, and much more.

Additional note, I am not looking for any particular "big names", just someone with a bit of experience who wouldn't mind trying out some new material.

No. Definitely not. Most of my tests were with one, but there is a nice justification that you can use if you have at least 2.

Since this is basically an expanded and improved MMD then yes, you can face other way and your eyes can be closed.

I was one of the lucky ones to be sent a copy of Air Writer for review – and I do consider myself lucky. This is not only a quality produced ebook but describes a principle which has just so much potential.

DekEl starts by describing what air writing is and then in excellent detail shows how to learn air writing and what to look for. There are lots of graphics to help you learn the different aspects of air writing, including letters, numbers, zodiac signs and ESP symbols. As I read through Air Writer I tried out some of what was described and it was all crystal clear and accurate.

After the ‘teaching’ (and which is pretty straightforward) comes the ideas and here DekEl is to be congratulated on his inventiveness. There are some gems here. For instance if you own MOABT, air writing could be of great help here. I own Looch’s book test and again air writing could give you the needed bit of information.

In addition to the many suggestions on ways to use air writing, there are also two brilliant contributions by Timon Krause and Simon Keyl. Timon puts forward an idea which could help get you used to air writing by limiting the choice of what the spectator could think of. This in itself opens the way to a huge number of possibilities, eg getting the spectator to think of one of a list of capital cities, country names, famous people, sports and activities. This is an idea I am definitely going to explore and use. Simon’s idea gives splendid justification for using air writing and again helps the performer learn the necessary information.

Air writing is an exciting development in mentalism and DekEl has not only set out the principle with great clarity but has shown its immense possibilities. To get the most from air writing (and which is the same with pretty well anything) you will need to spend time studying it and becoming familiar with the different aspects but if you are not overly ambitious to start with (perhaps using Timon’s idea) then you could very quickly build up your skills and become more adventurous. Also, another benefit is that Air Writing can almost be done impromptu and once you have mastered it, you could present it in most situations.

In Air Writer DekEl teaches a great principle and with it has opened the door to a many possibilities. For those interested in furthering their skills and knowledge in mentalism Air Writer is a must read and I feel is destined to become a classic in this aspect of our art.

This sounds very interesting, don't normally buy stuff, as I don't like the possibility of exposure once these things can become common place, but this might be worth a go. The air writing bit I like, as soon as someone pulls out a pack of cards they've lost me right there, don't care how good the trick is.. cards = trick (IMO)

Even though I use cards in my mentalism from time to time, I have to admit that I often find myself thinking the same thing. Air Writing does take some practice and a little luck, but it has a high hit rate, especially, as Neil said, if you start off by practicing with Timon's almost sure fire method.
