I had to Google "Nancy Grace" to find out who she was.
What an embarrassment! I just watched this clip and cringed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x8ARIxg51I It's off topic, I know, but I'm simply amazed by the woman. |

Circumstantial evidence is merely evidence that requires an inference (or more) to reach the ultimate point it is purported to present. There's nothing inherently weaker about circumstantial evidence; it just depends on the nature of the facts. For instance:
1). A woman tentatively picks a guy out of a lineup. 2). A cop comes up on a car crashed into a light pole. The engine is still warm, and there's a drunk guy passed out behind the wheel. Nobody else is in the car. In the first case, we direct evidence of whatever crime the woman was a witness to. In the second case, we have circumstantial evidence of driving under the influence. Which case do you like more?

Why is it interesting her mother is the only one who reported it? Because both parents had access to the car and, as noted, her father was a retired cop. The tow operator had prior experience to the smell of decomp. Why didn't he report it? Police were around the car on several occasions when they were at the house and none of them noticed.
Again, it was only one search for chloroform and a search for chloroform doesn't mean anything considering they found no evidence of chloroform. No chemicals that she purchased or anything at the house. |

There were multiple searches for chloroform and 84 visits to a chloroform related site. Further, the searches were clearly made when Cindy Anthony was at work and did not have access to the family computer.
The air samples from the trunk showed very high levels of chloroform. |

If this were another thread section that would be a very cool outline for a computer assisted routine where they search for the best price on something with a distinctive odor and when they open the airtight bag the odor is there.
On this thread it appears to be a pretty darned unlikely coincidence for an innocent person and makes me wonder how the prosecution messed up their case.

The jury did not trust the procedure in which the air samples were taken. It's the first time that procedure was used. I'm not if it's the first time in a court case or just in Florida. |

" NetAnalysis is another tool that can be used for similar purposes. After this NetAnalysis report was introduced, the defense team questioned why in the NetAnalysis report it showed the user visiting MySpace 84 times and the Sci-Spot website (that purportedly served the chloroform information) only 1 time while in the Cacheback report generated from the same internet history file it showed that the user visited MySpace 1 time and the Sci-Spot website 84 times. This was a glaring discrepancy that was not presented to the jury previously. Stenger did not appear to have an answer for this discrepency, because, in his words, he was not the developer of either application. |

Hope the nanny sues her and it becomes a civil case. I believe she must testify and cannot plead the fifth. Not sure about this I just think I remember reading something like that. Also I hope the officials who did the searchingfor her child can sue also for her lying that the child was missing.
Time will tell.
