Johnny Hoogerland is the hero of the day. He was hit by a car of the French tv, but he still is king of the mountains. Here's the accident: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvnLDpgmT6U Hoogerland is the guy in the back who's been shot into the barb wire.

Hoogerland's comment after the accident shows what a truly great sportsman he is. Thank God he is all right.

Good thoughts,

Bob

Wow- that could have been tragic. Glad it turned out OK... what was that car doing out there anyway?
Also known, when doing rope magic, as "Cordini"

Today he wrote his column in the local newspaper: http://www.pzc.nl/sport/zeeland/9090181/Ontredderd.ece

Summary:
They were riding more than 50 km per hour. He has 33 stitches but he feels alright. Only the ones in his knee are concerning him. He's not angry at the driver, he's sure it was an accident, not an attack. After the fall he was in panic: his points for the king of the mountains jersey were at danger, so he had to get up on his bike and finish as quickly as possible. The concern was not his health, but the jersey. The stage was dangerous anyway, you can see that at the other cyclists who fell (Vinokourov and Van den Broeck).

Because he's TELEVISION, and TV folks are entitled to go ANYWHERE!

That's the problem, the 'TV-car' didn't have to be there at all. One km ahead or two km behind - or at a total different road would be good enough for TV anyway.

Yea then all he needs is Casey's jury and then he can sue the cyclist.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000
