The proper name of the effect is the Tombstone Piledriver and it is performed by the Undertaker and was invented by Marc Callaway.

There is an effect named The Undertaker in Baba Gede Nibo's book - Vodu Magick
The effect uses old fashioned nails and a bag. |

Just looking for a 'performance' of the effect. If your statement was meant to be funny,,, then , cool, I guess. |

Just my way of saying "Hi!" and welcome to the Café.
Wasn't trying to be sarcastic. I just couldn't resist the set up line you gave me with your question. Good thoughts, Bob |

Hey Dallas, Welcome to the Café.
How are you mate? Do you perform magic/mentalism at all? If so.. it may be wise to give us a bit of an intro as to what your about first... then you will find answers to your questions a little more forthcoming. Cheers man, Paul |

Derren Brown has an effect usually called "The Undertaker" on YouTube.
I wonder if it's this effect? |

I should definitely introduce myself here as well. Thanks for the tip! My name is Dallas and I am from the island of Oahu in Hawaii. By profession I am a fitness consultant. I lost 190 pounds over the 7 years and now I help others get fit! No lie, I really did lose that much weight! Here are my before and After Pictures: I am sincerely excited to be a part of this forum I have been doing mentalist routines and card routines for nearly 10 years and most of it has been via self study. I think my skills and knowledge have been severely limited though because it has been hard to find other friendly magicians in my area. And I really cant improve my method without proper criticism I am hoping to connect with others around the globe here to learn from and to critique my methods and hopefully maybe find some local Hawaii folks here too! I am in no way a pro but I do take studying magic seriously. I like performing for small groups of people, no more than 10 - 15, in party or social settings. I like to do completely impromptu perhaps starting with a visual card routine or a bar routine (rubber bands, matches, etc.) then slowly work into some basic mentalism all the while building the 'tone' for some mind blowing mentalism effects as the night goes on. I live for the 'shocked' looks on people's faces If I get a few of those I am happy! I prefer non-pre-show and non-gimmicked effects (besides working with thread for some astonishing mental effects ) Right now the climax of my mentalism routine is an impromptu version of a pulse stopper. With the right crowd and right tone, that effect gets great results! Hope that is a decent intro for everyone Looking forward to getting to know all of you! |

"How are you mate?" "Cheers man"
Doesn't sound either old fashioned or gentlemanly to me. Oh. Wait. You're Australian. Nuff said. ;) |

Welcome Dallas,
I did read your intro in the New Arrivals section. Some people here are so suspicious of new arrivals, they seem to forget that all you have to do is view their profile and check out their posts in the last 30 days. Good luck, I hope you find the help you're looking for here in this forum that is subtitled "Magicians Helping Magicians." Reg Quote:

You can sell a product based in your method for losing weight. That would be great for a lot of members here.

In fact... almost everyone here is a full time working pro... apparently. Any Derren Brown fan, especially one that has 10 years experience, would probably already know where to find said effect. Im not being facetious Dallas, I promise... I just think it doesn't hurt to double check that you helping an ACTUAL magician. Does it? Anyhoo.. moving right along folks. Welcome Dallas... thanks for the extra intro. Great job on the weight loss dude.. amazing. |
