There are lots of people who really go off when someone pinches an item. Recently, one of the most vocal of the bunch, a metal worker out of Arizona, has released "his version" of the Lindhorst vanishing bird cage. I haven't seen any complaints about this. However, for years, Owen Magic Supreme has been the sole manufacturer of Lindhorst style birdcages, which many magicians, myself included, consider to be the best. The difference -- his is smaller.
There had been times that I'd wanted a smaller birdcage. I performed it for close to 30 years as the opener to my Merlin show. However, I won't be ordering one of these any time soon, for three reasons. One is that I haven't been able to do the cage since I tore my rotator cuff. Another is that his cage is clearly a knockoff of an early model Owen cage -- just smaller. The third reason is that he obviously knows nothing about the stresses on a vanishing bird cage. The Owen cage has stainless steel bars which have specially expanded ends so they won't come out of the framework. His have brass bars -- apparently with lumps of solder on the ends. Nice try, Jimmy boy, but not good enough for prime time.

Hi
Not relevant, but I always enjoyed seeing Blackstone Jr. do this effect, when I was a kid! I never tired of seeing it performed.

If there was a single act that inspired me to become a magician it seeing Blackstone, Sr. do this trick at a local theatre when I was about 6 years old.
