As a beginner I have to say the top card cover classic pass is the one I would feel most comfortable performing at the moment I also like the effects it can lead into having the spectators card second from top.

As for bottoms and seconds, they just open up a world of possibilities to me. As for the top change, I just love showing a spec a card, putting it in their hand having top changed it, then watching their reaction when they turn it over. I think it's more convincing than a double lift to achieve that effect. What do you think? |

I use my Ultra Move for that. (Or a double turnover, or my scoop change or another one or two.) And no,I've never really "experimented" with stacked decks. I don't carry a deck with me - so a stacked deck would do me no good.

I've written this many times - learn a good control (a force is part of "control"), a good double lift or turnover and a good palm - and you can do impromptu miracles with cards.

I will work on it though I want to be at a stage where I'm not committed to any particular technique and I can adapt to the situation. |

Relax your body language as you do it, and offer the (bottom portion of the), deck and 'top' card by moving it slightly towards the spec. That's where they'll be looking. As they replace it, leaning ever so slightly backwards as if to relax as you replace the top, preferably asking 'are you sure you remember your card?', great, that's very important. I often joke by saying, 'if you don't remember it I'll look really dumb'. Always gets a laugh. Most importantly, any question asked MUST be processed by the brain. Asking the question at the right time will cause misdirection as the spec thinks back to visualise the card for a moment. Next is to video yourself performing it, double check your angles, the do it on as many people as possible until you've done it 100 times, by which time you'll be doing it without thinking. Also, don't think of this as committing to a move, the more you learn, the bigger your 'tool box' of skills will be. It's never wasted time if you want to be really good. |
