I would like to make a hinged production box* out of wood, probably 3/4" cabinet grade plywood.
(*See Amateur Magician's Handbook by Henry Hay or this Mikame version: http://youtu.be/YlKtGrWIIJY) My question is, what would be a good way to make the hidden pivot for the false bottom? Any thoughts?

Make an L shape bottom and put a pivot pin through the side of the box.

Thanks Richard
I knew about the L shaped bottom from Henry Hay's book. I made such a box when I was a kid by simply using nails as the pivot pins. It worked ok at the time. I knew that there must be better ways to do it but I did not know what to search for. Pivot pins! Thanks to you I have found several things searching "pivot pins" including these ready made hinges at Rockler: http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=......ot%20pin By the way, I just ckecked out your site and all I can say is wow! What gorgeous products. Color me impressed.
