They will be starting at the Branson mall theater soon..
More magic in Branson.. I remember hanging out with Seigfried back stage at the Stardust hotel in the late 70's and he was very much not happy with these guys.... He said these guys stold my act.. They are down at the Dunes doing my trunk my music and our costumes and even the cats.... He was very bitter twords these guys... I wonder if they ever made up? Well you will be able to catch their act soon in the theater that I started out at here in Branson... The back stage is so small that we busted out the cinder block walls and got an 18 wheeler back and put a sliding door on the side of the 18 wheeler so it looks like that it's just parked against the wall... But really the illusions roll up a ramp right into the 18 wheeler.... I had welder rip a hole in the side of the truck and they put kinda like a sliding door you would see in a barn.. Then we had to put a roll up door in the side of the wall after ripping out the cinder block walls and moving water pipes and adding an I-Beam.... This cost us around 11k to get this place ready for magic... They will get to take advantage of the works that my boys did... Taylor

Are you trying to promote them or bash them....lol? They do look like S&R impersonators though.

They are old school circus guys (The Flying Fercos)that flew and did juggling, wire, you name it. They saw S&R and decided to copy everything about them. The style, effects, manerisms... you name it. It was like S&R "lite"... same taste, less filling.
They don't come anywhere close to having S&R's charisma but they do have big cats and a lot of props and sometimes, that's all it takes to book a show. They didn't age quite as well as S&R either as both seem to be a little on the larger side now but they're still working.

Ray, didn't we go see the Ferco's in Reno many years ago? I know I saw them...I just can't recall exactly when.

I don't think so, I'm SURE I would have remembered that! I think we were doing Tahoe/Reno around '82 but I was at the Nugget while you did The Sahara. Do you rememeber where they were playing?

I always thought it was almost laughable that they even had the blonde/brunette thing going of S&R too. Maybe that was their own actual hair color (only their hairdresser knows for sure) but it still just seemed like that was really crossing over the line. Can't deny it worked for them though (at least to a certain extent) as agents and bookers at that time were all clamoring for S&R clones and they gave them what they wanted.
I met them once in the mid-90's in Vegas and they were very fashion-conscious, wearing full length fur coats on a hot, sunny day. Seemed like they were very much trying to look and act as wealthy "celebrities". Weren't all that nice or friendly either, way too egotistical for my taste. Caught their show about 4 or 5 years ago at a small Indian casino outside of San Diego. Played to a small crowd. The brunette one is a pretty good juggler. They're still plugging away at it I guess. Also, I got the feeling from watching several of their performances over the years that they didn't have the same loving relationship with their animals that S&R were famous for, and seemed to treat them as props and be pretty mean to them, but I can't really say this for sure. But definitely seemed like it. |

I saw them when they were at Planet Hollywood a year ago in Vegas! I thought I would rather see S&R again! They do try to be original nowdays though. They will be competing now in Branson with Kirby...thats not going to be easy. Best of Luck to them!
