Jumping from one set of data to another completely unrelated set is utter rubbish and points out the pointlessness of this article.

In related news, the same method show's that Shakespeare was 10% WORSE than Stephenie Meyer.

As for their "fakes," those were not (all) done by "child" artists, so the conclusion is even more absurd.

Pretty funny. So let's take a poll. Which of the following is a genuine physics diagram?
or is it squiggles that somebody put on the internet to look smart?

Say oops. I changed my mind but didn't change the question. It should be: is this a genuine physics diagram or is it a squiggle?

I got 75%. Kandinsky never did much for me and a couple of the fakes were pretty good.

An amusing use of statistics to snare the facile.
I skipped the works I did not recognize and scored worse than "pure chance" - what does that mean? I happened to recognize the Kandinsky but not the Rothko. The lines and coloring looked like Albers Aquarium but I was not sure and skipped them.

I recognized most, though, as I said, the fakes were NOT the paintings of children, like the conclusions imply, which really invalidates the entire claim.

I scored 92% , meaning I got most of them right. Unfortunately, the test isn't that good because of the quality of the images.
Rothko has always been one of my favorite painters. I saw the Guggenheim show and it literally changed my life. So much so that I almost got married in the Rothko chapel. Just before they broke up the Rothko foundation, I was given the opportunity of going through the entire collection by myself. It was an amazing experience. |

I worked at an art fair recently, and there was a girl selling her paintings next to me. Before I looked at her work she told me that she specialized in abstract landscapes, so I took a good look at her work. OMG it was nothing but different color horizontal lines. I told her that they were beautiful, but I really was talking about her legs.

I don't know much about high art. I just clicked yes for the ones I liked. Got 50%. Means I have bad taste. Good.
