Hey thanks for that link critter! I had never heard of Hart Island, and was surprised, because I thought I knew a good deal of NYC history. After reading the link, I realize that it is what I used to call Potter's Field. Really interesting, especially the bits about burials being performed by Rikers Island prison inmates, and the burial of the novelist Dawn Powell. Makes me want to do more research.

If you like the Hart Island story you may be interested in Centralia, PA. This was another place I was obsessed with for a while. It was the real life inspiration for Silent Hill.
