It has been a while since I active on TMC. Just a short one. Anyone here perform The Berglas Effect? Lets exchange some thoughts and performance style. =) Regards, Chris Cheong |

I rarely use for ACAAN real performances, but this is one of my takes of the Grail.

My take on it?
It's not that impressive to lay people. It is more of an exercise for magicians/mentalists. There are way more impressive things to do. Best case scenario, it's a 1 in 2,704 chance. I prefer my odds to be 1 in a million or so. |

As per usual Thomas, you have no idea what you are talking about. Oh, how did your first gig go? Or is it still up and coming? Benny

Secondly I say Marc Paul cannot do The Berglas Effect because he has never demonstrated it, on film, to my knowledge. On Parkinson and so on he seems to have use p**-***w; and if you consider THAT to be The Berglas Effect then almost everyone here can do it more or less. Thirdly, I told you its on the 13th Edit: And fourthly, you are meant to be the older and wiser one here. You are meant to be acting mature and level-headed. You don't simply make a post which consists of nothing more than "Your wrong, cause your not pro sonny jim!".

What are the odds of THAT card being at the correct number? 1 in 52. What are the odds of BOTH of those things also happening at the same time? 52x52

If I selected a card, and you had to guess what it was, that's a 1 in 52 chance. If I selected a card, and you had to guess what it was, AND you had to guess what position I put it in... doesn't that raise the odds?

Although I've seen many interesting and clever methods to this effect. I still haven't seen any one else perform an entertaining versions of it.

Brandon,
Look at it like this... If you had a person select any card, lets say they select 2 of clubs, that card is in the deck at one of fifty two positions. They have a 1 in 52 chance that any card they select will be at the position they select. Thomas, Yes you are correct regarding your AOCAAN. It's one of the very, very, few that are (52x52)/1. |
