Keynesian economics (, also called Keynesianism and Keynesian theory) is a macroeconomic theory based on the ideas of 20th century British economist John Maynard Keynes. ... and developed during the Great Depression, asserts that the aggregate demand created by households, businesses, and the government -- and not the dynamics of free markets -- is the most important driving force in an economy.
It also thinks that active federal government policy-making through discretionary fiscal policy to stabilize economy-wide fluctuations. Go ahead and explain to me how this is not Obama. Please. Can't wait to hear your ideas.

The same thing happened in the Great Depression. Politicians were fearful of borrowing or printing the enormous amount of money required to get the economy rolling again and so they hobbled the plan by cutting back on the spending. It was only the increased government spending brought about by our involvement in World War 2 that eventually got the economy back on track and lead to the US being the financial powerhouse that we were in the 50's and 60's. Of course it helped that Europe and Japan were in ruins and couldn't compete with us economically for a decade or two. But then again we foolishly sat on our hands and let our factories and infrastructure decay while Europe and Japan built new and far more efficient assembly plants. Right now deficits don't matter. It's far more important to create jobs, even if those jobs are simply digging holes and filling them back in again. Though it would be better if the money was spent repairing our crumbling infra structure.

Err, Kevin, you may want to look up derogatory.
And Danny, Payne is correct. If Obama was Keynsian or Socialist: Single Payer Health Care would not have been "off the table". The Bush tax cuts would have been allowed to expire. He would have advocated nationalizing the banks instead of bailing them out. The Stimulus would have been twice as large and had no tax cuts. He wouldn't have pre-emptively offered to make cuts to Medicare and Social Security in the debt ceiling deal. And you can stop saying he's the left's "messiah" because we're really, really dissapointed. Basically, we have no representation in this government save Senator Bernie Sanders and maybe Representative Dennis Kucinich, who are constantly marginalized.

Red,
I appreciate you trying to convince yourself that TOTUS is derogatory with the blather you posted. Unfortunately, I didn't say any of that. The most I said was that BO is a weak as a leader. I think most logical people see that.

Yea every time I ask what happened to the hopey changey guy I get a complaint about Bush. THAT was change?
The hopey changey messiah really has fallen on his face. And he is Keynsian no matter how you spin it. He simply ran out of money and mommy and daddy have taken away his credit card. The idea that digging and filling holes will get an economey going is as ignorant as thinking you can change a pool by having people drain the deep end and fill the shallow end. The government creating jobs will not help at all. PRIVATE SECTOR creating jobs is what broadens the tax base! If Government creates jobs, they have to tax people in order to even create the job. Then they tax people on money that has been taken from another. If they simply let others create jobs, then new wealth is created and taxed and the tax base is broadened. Not too tough to understand really. Now this does not work when you are so power hungry that you can't see straight. This covers MOST in Washington but easily describes the POTUS. I heard something great which describes the situation pretty well. Obama and the libs want to blame the Tea Party for the downgrade. The response was simply "That is the equivilant of blaming the Betty Ford clinic for alchoholism". Agree or disagree with the Tea Party THEY JUST GOT THERE and all the problems we have are long before that! As for the deficit does not matter? Wow where to even address that from huh? It is the reason we got a AA credit rating for the first time. Yet it doesn't matter. Your theory is to just print and pile up debt? Usually you are so much smarter than that Payne. Redshirt you are confusing his IDEOLOGY with what he is able to accomplish. HE IS AN ADVOCATE OF SINGLE PAYER HEALTH CARE! Do I need to play you the clips of him saying so not 4 years ago? HE TRIED TO KILL THE BUSH TAX CUTS. HE TRIED FOR A LARGER STIMULOUS. Man just because he can't get these things done, in no way makes him LESS of a true believer. Your messiah is simply put a Keynsian. Obviously you are also a true believer. Even with reality crushing down around you.
