Dean Dill does an excellent coin matrix routine at http://www.LivingWaters.com -then click on "Behind the Scene" for August 8, 2011. In the audience is actor Kirk Cameron ("Growing Pains") and author Ray Comfort- who is also the guy introducing Dean in the video. They even give him a special Ten Commandments coin impromtu to do something magical with- which he does. Great job Dean!

Thanks for posting that - it was awesome! Dean is a fantastic performer for sure. Very slow, very deliberate, and he lets every magical moments sink in without rushing at all.
By the way, any idea whether this matrix routine is published or on DVD?

Clean...no suspicious movements between the original condition and the effect....wonderful!

Buy a set "Explosion", and you will know what you need to do this matrix. -M- |

Thank you for that link. No matter how old I am, or how many times I see Matrix being done, it always makes me smile. For me,
there are no magical effects that look more like real magic, than a matrix routine done well, like that. Love it. |

Actually what Dean is performing isn't Matrix it's shadow coins. Which is related more to Chink a Chink not Matrix. Dean does it very well.

RS1963: It's hopeless! You'll never get the message across. I've tried to explain it, others have tried, and even Al Schneider has tried. People still call any effect where coins on a close-up pad are somehow, in some way covered and move to one spot "Matrix". I gave up!
Thanks! Jim |

Check out Dean's wonderful DVDs. His newer two-DVD "Extreme Dean" covers a lot of the stuff that you witnessed the master perform on the video clip. I've been performing Dean's Explosion for eight years or so, and while I consider it a masterpiece that CAN be used to perform the translocation/shadow coins sequences that Dean performed, it is NOT necessary to use in order to perform the stuff from the clip.
By the way, Dean's earlier trilogy of videos were transferred over to a single DVD that is certainly worth the investment as well. Best, MJ |

That coin routine is called Call Shot as performed/taught on Dean Dill's Coin Magic 2000 DVD. First routine on the DVD. He does not make mention to either reference of shadow or matrix.
Posted: Aug 9, 2011 3:57pm I guess in a way, better he is left unknown and underrated for the some of us. |

Thanks for the link. It is always nice to see new footage of Dean Performing. One thing about Dean is he always adds new subtleties to his routines to make them better. If you watch the routine on his Extreme Dean DVD Volume one and compare it to this clip you will see slight differences that Dean has added to make it even better. Dean is always looking to improve on everything as that is his nature. He is the ultimate performer, a great teacher and mentor. If anyone ever gets to LA, go visit Dean at "Dean's Shop" and you won't regret it.
Cheers, TC |

@RS1963 and J-Mac, I agree with you both. I for my part was just a little fast when I used the word "matrix" this time. My thoughts were not up to change the name because the thread started with "Matrix".
Well, it's not a big injury happened because of this. Dean's "shadow coins" are always beautiful, even if the name was confused. -M- |
