Isn't Kirk Cameron "Banana Man"? Because I hate that guy...and his pathetic side-kick Ray Comfort.
Now, that coin matrix was great! Is it not "Translocation" by John Kennedy? |

I personally have “NEVER" seen anybody ( AND I HAVE SEEN MANY) perform the Coin Matrix as magical as Dean Dill. I have seen Dean perform this in person a number of times. It looks like real magic!!!!
Dean has absolutely no tells in his movements -He AMAZES ME EVERYTIME , ALL THE TIME ! You are the “BEST” Dean ! MICKEY SILVER - “HANDS OF LAS VEGAS" |

I've had the pleasure of working personally with Dean on several of his routines, and it's an honor to be mentored but such an incredibly talented performer. He is truly passionate about magic and is an incredibly creative thinker.

Very soft touch, does not look "movey", never met him but seems like I nice guy. I have all of his DVDs and you should too. They do tend to cover more table work which is not always an option for the casual performer. I learned one of his "matrix" routines to a reasonable degree of competence and was able to entertain and I hope fool a few laymen. But again don't get to the table much so sort of lost the routine.

Just as a complete aside, actor Kirk Cameron (seen watching Dean in the video) when in "his prime" while on the "Growing Pains" sitcom was receiving 10,000 fan mail letters a week. He even was on the old "The Rich and the Famous" program. "Growing Pains" had a bunch a now A list actors appear on it over the years including DeCaprio, Perry, many more (usually in their early or late teens back then). As for Ray Comfort, I have seen several of his non-magic related DVDs and enjoyed them all (he is a very funny guy actually). Ray is frequently a guest on the daily radio show with former stand up comic Todd Friel found at http://www.wretchedradio.com

Yikes- I hope you were in a hotel room! No doubt you were going home from Abbott's Get-Together in Colon which concluded late Saturday. I don't know if you caught the Micheal Finney lecture at FAB Magic on Friday afternoon- one of the things I learned from him is that like most of us he has a large room full of unused magic- but instead he has spent most of his career mastering less than ten routines which has done a zillion times over and then fine tuning every word each time through (and learning from every reaction each time he performs something).

I was thinking about Dean Dill and ran across this old thread. The link to the video posted by Morten above still works. In it, Dean performs one of his beautiful shadow matrix routines, which was great, but then someone asks him to do something with their own special "challenge" coin. Dean proceeds to blow their minds with it, but doesn't stop there. As an afterthought, he melts their brains with one of his instantaneous, kicker climax routines. These spectators didn't have a chance, had no idea they were dealing with a real wizard...

Same here! Thank You for posting that, Morten where ever you are. Peace be with Dean's family and friends.
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.
