You know where one is balanced on top of the other.

I chop as fast as I can but it still falls. Any tips?

Thanks

I think this belongs in the "Betcha" section.

To answer the question though: You can try slowing down the action a tad. Also, I seem to remember that you pull, not chop. I could be wrong though.

No, you chop - use just your index finger.

An alternate method - more reliable but not as dynamic - is to ROLL the dollar bill into a cylinder slowly, holding it from the edges and moving toward the bottles. When the rolled bill reaches the junction between the bottles it keeps the top bottle from moving while you finish.

Make sure the bottles are perfectly dry. Any moisture on the bill increases drag and will cause the stunt to fail

Now that is one method with which I am familiar - I did not remember it because I normally do not do bar stunts, but I am familiar with a lot of them. Thanks for the (inadvertent) reminder Thomas!

Give up.

Or place a side bet ahead of time that you will miss it.

Seriously, if you don't actually practice it at home enough that you can do it at least 25 times out of 25, then you shouldn't do it at a bar.

Why would you think I ever tried to perform it anywhere if I am asking for tips on how to do it?

In my extensive experience with this stunt, you're best to start with a crisp bill that has no folds in it with only a small portion of the bill trapped (about an inch from the end maximum) and VERY slightly offset the top bottle in the opposite direction from the long part of the bill (where you will "chop"). I also position the long part to the left so I can steady it with my left hand and chop with my right index finger (I am right-handed). Remember, do not pull at all with your left hand, only chop with your right and chop fast like you're trying to snap the bill in half. Last tip: short bottles work better, don't use longnecks if you aren't absolutely certain of your technique.
