This does damage them over a long period of time, but because they are solid billiard balls, it takes a really hard to damage them or consistent hard shots over a really really long period of time. Also realize that billiard balls are in constant contact of each other when playing pool/billiards/snooker, so these things are meant to be hit. Trick shot artist balance billiard balls all the time.

Most billiard balls will develops small imperfections over time. Little cracks, chips, and such. By looking and finding a couple of balls that have these inperfections and putting them together the balls will appear balanced. Really though they are just resting on their imperfections.
You will not be able to do this will a new set. No need to crack them like an egg. With Mettaa, John H. |

How hard is it to drill a hole in 2 1 in order to make a Zombie Ball

Try a craft glue dot. It's less damaging and hides on your thumb or fingernail until needed.
