If you are a memorized deck fan (as I am):
Let someone name a card and that's the only card in the deck that is missing. It can be produced from anywhere with your i...x. |

Darn! I was hoping that you had SF and had posted the very first review here! Hopefully it won't be long for the reviews to show up.
Thanks! Jim |

This is the quote from Martin Lewis who saw and tested it:
"Don't make the mistake of thinking that this is something you already know. Science Friction is a revolutionary new surfacing material that begins where roughing fluid leaves off! If you are a serious card magician then you absolutely must have this in your toolbox." Martin Lewis

Christian, this looks great - I do Gary Freed's NFW - I am imagining that at the end of the trick I can almost...give the cards to the spectator once SF has been applied? I like the idea of the 6 card repeat being done with the double deckers. Ihave preordered and am so looking forward to receiving the bundle that you have so generously offered. Hope to see you in Blackpool in February.
Best wishes John

As far as I remember NFW sticks two cards together. This Is another principle.

I had a great afternoon with Vic Trabucco, Karl Norman and friends in Buffalo giving a demo of Science Friction. Being one of the best card men in the north east; Vic played with some of the treated cards for a while and then started using them accompanied with sleights. The end results were unbelieveable!! Vic's effects are "kick" anyway..... add Science Friction to them... INSANE! In a matter of a few minutes, he had come up with several effects that were totally impossible. I believe it is a great statement of recommendation to say Trabucco LOVES and will be using Science Friction!! (He'll kick your butt with it!)

Well I'm also very curious but the price is high....This do not mean that I think it's too expensive for what it does but it's not on top of my list.
Maybe it's possible to sell treated cards so people can try it out themselves before purchasing a can (or smaller cans). Until now Christian has showed his passion for cards and gave us some new tools like the phoenix deck and I really do hope this is another winner. About the chem chart....I've got R&S without a chem chart but I think it's logical that you use a well ventilated room or mask when applying. Last question; Is the can under pressure like r&S/spraymount or does it use a pump system? |

It is an aerosol like other sprays or Rough and Smooth Sprays. And yes, a well ventilated room is recommended.
Bietfriek, thank you for your suggestion, what really sounds like a great idea. I could imagine to offer treated sample cards to play around with so that you can see at home how they feel. We prepared such cards for Magic Live and ran out the first day as everybody played around with them. Let me think about a fair solution. Maybe we could offer these cards for 5€ / 5$ to cover our expenses incl. Shipping. If we can organize it (not that easy) we could redeem this money if you purchase Science Friction afterwards.

Smart idea - it would also be a way for people to get to see the beautiful quality of the Phoenix cards themselves.
Maybe treating jokers or sample cards.

Btw, for everybody who is interested: my netbook and Ipad returned after announcing that both devices were locked and the Ipad traceable. Thank you, Magic Community (it was given back at the registration desk so I don't know who was so generous to give them back).
And yes, Truethteller found some time to come around and we welcomed him at our booth. Thanks for doing this, Brad, highly appreciated. I am already back on my way to Germany.

And now back to the reviews and applications

Here is where my curiousity lies. It seems to me that we now have:
- a way to accomplish r/s using a different material, that allows - only one card (not 2 or more) to be treated, so that it works with a card/cards in an untreated deck, and ALSO allows - a treated card and a regular card to hold together well enough for a spec to hold (probably in a brief, managed way), yet will separate easily and silently (meaning, no popping/cracking noises normally associated with adhesive). Is this a fair description?

Hi Chessman, the spectator cannot hold two cards as one undetected. But he can handle the gimmicked card and will not find anything funny. Here in Vegas I performed it a hundred times and nobody ever figured it out. We had a great response here. Thanks to everybody who supported me?
And all to the people who bought it...I wish you so much fun with it. It will open new doors for you. Let me know what you think about it. From some I already know that you love it.... Bye and all the best to you out there Alex

Thank you, Alex. So it seems the chief benefits seem to be needing to treat the barest minimum of cards (depending on the effect) rather than, say, an entire deck; also, that you can introduce a treated card(s) into any matching untreated deck.
Pretty significant!

Also, you never treat a complete card but a part of it. The friction on the treated part is extremely high while the other part easily separates. As long as there is pressure on the treated part (while pushing and moving the cards over a surface or while pinching the pair or while pushing off the cards from the deck) the cards stay solid together. Releasing the pressure and pushing the untreated part immediately separates the pair. No sound, no effort.

So would you say that Science Friction could be used to make the ultimate invisible deck?
