Or maybe a recorder? Very well done.

LOL!

That was just terrific.

But it sure sounds like a recorder to me.

In German, recorders are called flutes, and flutes are called "cross-flutes". I've always wanted to ask whether "cross-flutes" are preferred by "cross-dressers", but I don't think the joke would translate, and it might even be offensive or get me fired if I were to post in on Facebook.

A recorder in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing.
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats

What I'm thinking at this moment is this:

Marlin, what has you clicking all these recorder links? Are you in love or something?

Lol! I just stumbled across the 20th Century Fox thing and it was so random it made me laugh. Then I saw the Titanic one and listened to that. I like funny music fails even if they are done on purpose.

I love that one too. There are several songs from that Portsmouth Sinfonia on youtube.

The Portsmouth Sinfonia was an orchestra founded by a group of students at the Portsmouth School of Art in Portsmouth, England, in 1970. The Sinfonia had an unusual entrance requirement, in that players had to either be non-musicians, or if a musician, play an instrument that was entirely new to them. Among the founding members was one of their teachers, English composer Gavin Bryars. The orchestra started as a one-off, tongue-in-cheek performance art ensemble but became a cultural phenomenon over the following ten years, with concerts, record albums, a film and a hit single. They last performed publicly in 1979

I was standing on line for tickets for an outdoor play in Central Park last month, and a really awful flautist was working the line. He butchered every song, pop, rock and classical. Normally I'm enormously sympathetic to buskers, but this was the pits. When he called for requests, I asked for "Hot Cross Buns."

That was so funny!
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Bad busker: Any requests?

Me: Can you play Far Far Away?

Bad Busker: I don't know that song.

Me: It's not a song. I'd just like you to play far, far away from here.

This is, by far, the best non-orchestral rendition of the 2Oth Century Fox theme I've ever heard. Make sure you stick around to hear what is done with the Star Wars theme.
