I have heard a lot about the Si Stebbins card setup and would like to learn it. Does anyone know if there is a book of the setup and tricks to do with it or maybe even something on the Internet that has it? Thx.

Darwin Ortiz teaches a way for you to get into the stack from new deck order on volume 3 of his Expert at the Card Table videos, if I recall correctly.

He also teaches a diabolically killer effect with it ("Do As I Did").

Ultimatum,
If you are interested in a very deceptive stack that you can fan or spread before your audience with little to NO chance of them knowing it's a stack, look into Richard Osterlind's Breakthrough System. This system is GREAT!

The system is sold separately, or, I believe you can learn it from his Challenge Magic video.

OK I checked the site and think I can see where you are going wrong. It is not well described.

With the four piles face up in front of you collect the AC,4H,7D and 10D.Stop. From reading the rest of the page you KNOW the next card should be the KC, so as Picard says in Star Trek, "Make it so!" I suggest at this point turning all four piles FACE DOWN. You will then find if you turn over the top card of each pile and add it to your stack, things will progress as they should.

The four piles idea is simply a quick way of stacking a new deck. Understanding they progress upwards by 3 and go through the suits, you should be able to start with the AC and build your stack simply by taking each card as required from a shuffled deck, which would also help you learn it.

Paul.

Just tried the count and it worked wonderfully. Not sure what problems there were originally. I wasn't on here when this discussion 1st popped up, but the count does work, and works well.
Thanks,
vinnie

There's a handful of nice effects using this stack in Annemann's Practical Mental Magic.

There's a neat trick called Automatic Lie Speller (or something similar) in The Card Magic Of Nick Trost that uses this set-up.
