I don't mean who was the real Erdnase. I mean to ask who y'all think the Café Erdnase is. You know, the one answering questions as our special guest.

I'm guessing Jason England.

Anyone else have a guess?

I'd like to think it was the author of the Erdnase article, Marty Demarest (hope I got the spelling right, I'm not near it now), but I don't think so.

It's "Erdnase" himself, being channeled through a Ouija keyboard, obviously.

The other question I have is whether Steve plans to reveal the identity of the Café Erdnase after the GOH stint is over.

One thing I am relatively certain about: Erdnase is NOT Mark Lewis.

My alternative theory: It's Criss Angel. Think about it: With so many people here talking smack about him all the time, what better way around that than to come in under the alias of one of the most reknowned pseudonyms in the magic world?
Okay, the Ouija keyboard theory is more likely, but it would be funny.

If it's an American, he or she lives out west. Erdnase is online right now, and my clock says it's 10:17. So it's 4:17 AM in New York, and 2:17 in Las Vegas (where Jason lives), and 1:17 in LA.

Maybe it's Tommy! Tommy can quote the Man as well as anyone, and it's 9:18 (time moves as I type) in England.

I'm surprised there isn't so much interested in trying to figure this one out.

Or maybe he's writing from beyond the grave woooOOOOooooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOooo...I'm not sure it is Kauffman, or anyone connected with the Genii article, otherwise, they'd jump on the post and verify that Sanders is, in fact, the identity. It could just be that everyone at the Erdnasium is having a go at answering posts. Jason England does seem a likely candidate, though.

Jason is eloquent, and has absorbed enough Erdnase to get the right "tone" to the posts. And IMHO, the posts have the right tone. Since Jason lives in Vegas, posting at 2:00 AM on a Saturday night (ah...early Sunday morning, actually) is not out of the question (though his wife and kids might complain about him sleeping during the church service on Sunday morning. Smile)

If anyone else has a better candidate, I'd like to hear about it.

Ben is an Erdnase worshiper, but he's in Toronto, which still puts him in the 4:00AM poster category. Which could be, of course. I just think it's unlikely. Who posts at the Café at 4:17AM?

Well, I've done it once or twice, I admit. But only when suffering from insomnia.

If its not Glenn Bishop I am not interested.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

This is so easy. Obviously it is a little know card shark named Sean Red. Case closed...
Also known, when doing rope magic, as "Cordini"

Does the use of the Royal "We" give us a clue?

Is this to meld stylistically with Erdnase's 1st person plural voice?

Or does it give us the first, subtle clue that we are facing a committee? An exclusive Coterie?

I expect to see no less than 23 pages on this topic!
"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."
"The dog did nothing in the night-time."
"That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes.

Posting by committee? Nah. Also note that there have been no posts today, which gives more weight to my "out west" argument. What time is it in Vegas right now?

Yes, the royal we is interesting. So is the reference to a "Mr Verner" rather than Vernon, and the reference to Walter Scott's death date. A lot of scholarly wit is being shown off.

Kaufman, maybe? Where does he live?

Ask him what life is like in the mad, wild dream of the distant future of 1902.
