Take a look at the below link from Smokey Mountain Magic, the very beginning of the video is what the spectators are expecting to see when the performed tilts the cabinet both ways.
http://www.smmagic.com/stagemagic/pizzabox.htm The Cereal Triks wooden cabinet looks well made looking at the viseo and I like the fact that a cereal box is used, however, I don't like the fact that when the performer tilts the cabinet one way, you can't see the cereal box sliding by the small opening. You can only see the cereal box sliding by the small opening when tilting the cabinet the other way. To me this causes suspicion right away. It doesn't seem like it would have much of a surprise ending when both doors are opened. I have Mel Babcocks 'Elusive Teddy Bear' and when the cabinet is tilted both ways the spectators can see the teddy bear sliding by the small opening. |

You can only see the cereal box sliding by the small opening when tilting the cabinet the other way. I was thinking of this before purchasing the SMM pizza box from another Café member. I must say I don't understand the weakness you pointed out. Watching the video I do see the box sliding back and forth. Am I missing something? |

When he tilts the cabinet to our right, I don't see the cereal box sliding by. He tilts it to our right 3 times. I viewed the video again and still don't see it. Maybe the lighting had something to do with it when he filmed or maybe I need to go to the eye doctor and have my eyes checked.

The lighting is off on the video. its pointed from an angle thus causing the "trix" box to be seen well when slidding to the left but not very well when sliding to the right
YES get your eyes checked it is sliding back and forth. the problem I have with it was that it was obvious at least to me the depth of the space behind the doors when the final reveal is made but I'm looking at it like a magician - I am sure that the lay audience it would fly right by and never notice. just my radom thoughts sam

And why is this better than a rabbit?

Well actually it is a rabbit, the "Trix Rabbit" that is. Not sure that it is better but I can say that it is different. As someone who does a lot of kid's shows I can say that variety is important both for me and my audience.

You will also need a cart to lug that thing around. That is a huge prop. I kinda like the pizza one better. It looks a lot more deceptive to me.

I think Vito Lupo did a version of a Card Sword using Fruit Loops and a ball point pen. I don't recall if there was a f**c* involved but he'd try to "spear" a specific color from a handful thrown into the air as a display of skill.

My friend bought one of these and showed it to me. I stood about 8 feet back and it looked really good. I was impressed with it. I don't know who makes it, I do not have stock in it, I'm just giving you a review of what I saw. Then again, I DO wear glasses! LOl
Seriously, if he didn't buy it, I would have bought one. they look great.

I just got mine and I like it. I do have some concern over the deceptiveness of it but it is not a very big concern as I think with the black art inside the prop it is fine. I will let everyone know once I have performed with it

I see I mis-read the question, sorry.
I thought it meant cereal tricks in general (mills). -Mary Mowder |

I agree with Sam Sandler, You do indeed see the box go both ways and I too looked at it from a magicians perspective and saw the flaw as soon as both doors were open.
However, I do like the prob and am considering getting it as I think it would/could get many laughs and a nice routine built around it. But will wait a litle while yet |
