I think the perfect vanish would involve the coin melting into a whisp of silver smoke....oh yeah then appearing in my bank account...you could even show the spectator your bank account balance before and after the trick to prove you had done it!!

Actually that 'aint such a bad idea...I'm off to play with some ideas.

Hi HiveMind

This is the closest thing I got to a REAL VANISH:

This is something that Bob Kohler just mentioned one night in the passing. When I came back to LA I put that idea to practice. Tell me what you think . . .

As I believe it was stated before, a "perfect" vanish must happen within the perfect context.

One of my favorite premises for a coin vanish is based on establishing an expectation that has nothing to do with a vanish and more about a state of being.

Whenever I get a U.S. quarter I check the back to see if I have the state in my collection or not. I notice the date and double-take. The year impressed on the coin is still two years in the future. I either have an extremely valuable "mistake" or a coin which does not yet exist. At this point attention is returned to the coin which is no longer to be found.

Method is immaterial, the magic happens in their heads and is confirmed by the missing coin.

A pet theory and piece of mine, for you all to play with...

Enjoy!

Well done, Greg! I had to watch it a couple of times before it sunk in.

Shoot does a really nice one handed vanish on the cultural exchange DVD. I was blown away that the only explanation I had for it was indeed the correct one!

Greg - I like all your stuff. Very well thought out(and executed) combinations of methods, concepts, and principles.

the molecular destabilizer I use doesn't care if it
is a large or small coin. If it were a mouse it might make a difference.

Hmmm that has got me thinking.... are there JUMBO folding coins???

hehe.....you could probably ramsey with a jumbo folded into thirds.. or make one appear at fingertips from the rubber band action.

Mac,

I think I saw Sacso carrying jumbo folders at a convention. I know they are out there somewhere.

I figure the tough part is finding someone with teeth bad enough to need rubberbands that size!
