Looking at the video it looks similar to a version that I use where the "Any Card" is that named by the performer and the number is named by the spec. By looking at the final spread of cards leads me to think that its a similar method..maybe its not that new then but ill have to order the VD to find out. The spec can shuffle as well but he cant name the card in my own version , the laws of physics are here to stay then for amateur mortals like myself.
There are other applications of the method as well to other classic card tricks, indeed if its what I think it is |

Roberto Mansilla sent me the DVD yesterday by UPS. As soon as I get it (it shouldn't be long), I will do a short review.
Cheers

This is a different video than I saw before of Eureka X. In this the magician is revealing the card at the end, and you can see how the cards end up.

Assuming that the effect is presented under "test conditions" (i.e. spectator is the only one who handles the cards, at any time, cards can be verified as a regular deck, number is freely chosen, and spectator counts the cards himself), I've always doubted that spectators perceive any difference between "ACAAN" and "Card at any number". And the latter has many simply incredible ways to achieve this result, which in my opinion outstrip the very best ACAAN presentations.
I'll read with interest the reviews on this latest take on the plot. Potty |

Quite
My bet that is Eureka is a CAAN plot , lets face it a lot of Adverts play with semantics and if the spec shuffles then its a done deal so to speak that he cant name any card unless the Magi gets his mits on the pack . also probably a few discrepant moments.. around three at a guess |

Still haven't received mine. Hope this doesn't turn into another Godot drama...
Magic, in essence, is the ability of conjuring spirits who help the magician accomplish astonishing feats.

As promised, here is my review (sorry for my english, I am french):
The DVD is very nicely made and it is a plesaure to watch it (either in spanish, or in english). There are two presentations of the effect: one in a close-up situation, and the other one in a parlor situation. Both versions are beautiful, and very clean. I was fooled! I watched them several times before watching the explanations, because it was so good to enjoy the moment of not knowing the secret This ACAAN is perfect for several people (minimum 3-4 people). The explanations are very clear (presented in a dialogue form, so it is clear to follow everything as Roberto explains). Then there is a summary of the explanations, step by step. At the end, Roberto talks about the genesis and evolution of the effect in his mind. He was inspired by the greatest magicians (his crediting is excellent), and constructed progressively his own method. He explains several ideas, several versions (that he tried or not), and everyone can find one which will suit his own style and personnality. Here is a summary of the conditions for this ACAAN: 1 - Shuffled deck before the effect, put back in the case, that is placed on the table before the effect begins. Choices of the card and the number occur later. 2 - Freely chosen card 3 - Freely chosen number (only one small restriction, but it will be unnoticed thanks to Roberto's presentational tips) 4 - Normal deck 5 - Almost no mental calculations (no stack) 6 - Almost no deck manipulation by the magician 7 - The magicians distributes the cards until the chosen number, in a fluid way. 10 - The chosen card is at the specific numer, not just before, or just after. 11 - Magician or spectator can turn the card at the chosen number. This DVD is excellent, Roberto is a very sympathic guy, his ACAAN version is fresh and dynamic. If I had to rate hit, I would put... no I just find sooo stupid to give a mark for a release or a DVD! It is a version I will definitely use. It comes into my favourite ACAANs effects next to MTB by John Born. Congratulations Roberto!
