Did'nt he get the memo that any armed person or persons doing any violent act or crime is to be called "a gunman" or "gunmen"? That's it, no identifying characteristics, nothing that would implicate any group of people (unless they are right wing extremists). Radical islamic muslim extremists? No no no no no no, not these days. It's insane, I know! We're doomed and there's nowhere better to go!

The same publisher has a number of other "Patriotic American Coloring Books" colouring books.

http://www.coloringbook.com/patriotic.aspx

Most of them look pretty reasonable, even educational. But I have to wonder, who buys their kid an "I am a Republican" or "I am a Democrat" colouring book?

No comment about the 9/11 book, except that what the publisher says it is meant to do sounds a little advanced for a colouring book to me. But, who knows, maybe today's toddlers of colouring book age are more savvy and up on world events than I give them credit for, and are fully capable of managing the nuances.

A little weird, but I think it's nice to see that they have both the Republican and the Democrat books; both the Tea Party and the Obama books.

Why ignore either half of the market?

It's done all the time, probably for a couple of reasons. The philosophical position of the business owner(s), and/or concern about alienating half of the market by catering to the other half. Glenn Beck listeners might like the Tea Party coloring book, but I suspect many of them wouldn't by it from a place that also sells the Obama and Democrat books.

But Glenn Beck was also on the same channel as the Family Guy for a very long time.

"Children, the truth is, these terrorist acts were done by freedom-hating radical Islamic Muslim extremists. These crazy people hate the American way of life because we are FREE and our society is FREE."

Wow, how many lies can they squeeze into two sentences?

The only thing that's remotely true is that "radicals" flew the planes.
It's amazing, people will criticize you for "biting the hand that feeds you," while they're busy praising the hand that beats them.

The entire "they hate us for our freedoms" line is the biggest load of bull since "marijuana's a gate way drug."
It had nothing to do with the continuous american interventionism is the middle east for years before 9/11. It wasn't reactionary at all.

Also, the idea that your society is free is just as laughable as the all the anti pot propaganda.
If you honestly think america is "free," please, by what measure?

This line of reasoning falls well short of your usual rational analysis.

First, the only thing you allowed as true was "radical," so reducing disagreement with your post to a discussion of freedom is false dichotomy.

Second, to justify the phrase "they hate us for our freedoms" does not at all require a demonstration that the USA is "free" to the definition and satisfaction of a Canadian libertarian, but rather to the standard of a radical Islamic extremist. Examples of the ways in which the USA is free in such as way as to inspire such hatred may include, but is by no means limited to freedom of religion, women's rights, and legalized alcohol, pornography, and gambling. To say nothing of the freedom to depict religious icons in print in the manner of one's choosing, which does tend to upset some people.
