Hey I tried this about a year ago and never found what I was looking for so thought I would try again
when I first bought one some time ago it was awesome. unfortionatly after 500 shows the one tip cracked and no longer pips or pops I bought a new one andit was CRAP! turned out it was from india. however I have since bought them from other "reputable" dealers and they are all the same junk! does any one know if the original ones are still available and if so WHERE who was it that made them who sold them I really really want one or two or three or more to have for my shows! thanks sam

Sounds like you are referring to the Pop Away Wand. A giant plastic wand where the end flies off when you squeeze it.
Invented by Maurice Philips and first released by Supreme in the early 1970's. They worked perfectly. Later ones by Supreme still worked but sometimes you needed to but a ring of selloptape - clear adhesive tape - inside the tips to ensure an airtight fit. More recently Trixie Bond released a version which worked very well and I think she called it the Tipple Topple Wand or the Topple Popple Wand. Try a ring (or a few rings) of tape inside the tip before discarding the prop. |

I thought David Ginn had sold something like that at one time. You might check with him.

Trixie Bond's wand is called the "Topsy Popsy Wand" and it is available form many dealers, including Denny & Lee's Magic Studio in Baltimore, MD and Las Vegas, NV. http://www.dennymagic.com
I use it all the time and I am still using the ones I got from Trixie in 2003. Hope this helps, Eric |

I bought 2 back in 2003, and am still using the first one. It's awesome. Make sure you use advice from David Ginn, and using tape, attach rope to the insides of the caps, so they don't go out of your control when they fly off.

Thanks guys
I have used my wand in over 500 shows and I don't think I will ever put the rope and tape inside. I love it flying out into the audience. that being said iagree if you don't have great audience management yes use davids idea. I emailed every one but not one return yet. I will order one from hocus pocus today and let you know when I get it if it is indeed the same one I had. the new ones or the ones from india all have some kind of "lip" on the white cap and the wand is not the same length. and no matter how hard I squeezed it never really poped off and when it did it was realy hi and far. very little control with it. thanks again sam

I secured the rope to the caps on mine with a hot glue gun. Still holding after 7 years.

I just ordered one of these from Misdirection Magic Shop online about a month ago. Here is the link:
http://www.misdirections.com/index.php?m......temid=66 because I use this wand in Pre-schools I did not want the wand tip flying into the audience so I used an Extra Long "TT" Streamer. It gets tons of laughs and the quality is great! When I ordered they did have a problem with their website so I would call to place your order. |

Yes that is where I use it also for my preschool shows Love it when it shoots into the audience the kids go nuts its great!!
if I were to use some kind of string (which I doubt I will) I would use fishing line and bring out a reel and reel the cap back in that would be funny for me the kid on stage chasing the cap around and bringing it back to me is priceless and don't want to cut that from the show. sam

I made a few phone calls, and Denny is out of them, but Trixie has several thousand of them. They cost $10 plus shipping.
