For releases this year, as you've requested, I would put the Berglas Effects in that category

This way up by Paul Brooks and Colin. However it was limited release and I believe is sold out. Very strong though.

A few of my favorites include Chuck Hickock's Mentalism, Inc. and Banachek's Psychological Subtleties books, they were published a few years ago but what the hell, the first response above was Corinda, which was published nearly 50 years ago.

Does it matter when the books were published? I can't guess why you might ask unless you're planning to buy a gift for someone and want to be sure it's something they don't already own. Otherwise your expectations of old vs. new material may not be met. There's a lot of new, half-baked gruel floating around like so much jetsam. Every year it gets worse as I'm sure you've noticed.
There have been some really good books released this past year as well. Have you done any research lately at a review site? I made a list for you but couldn't bring myself to share it because I believe you need to spend time digging for what interests you. Try marketplaceofthemind.com, mylovelyassistant.com and the other threads listed right here in The Good, The Bad and the Garbage. You'll find more good books than you'll have time to read. Once you've found a book with good reviews, take a risk and buy it. I recently bought a book by instinct without any reviews from the Café and found gold inside. Tell us what you already own that you really like and maybe that will help someone here make a new recommendation. What sort of mentalism books are already in your library? If they're classic books, the best book of 2012 might be the one that you write using what you've learned from Annemann, Banachek, Cassidy, Corinda, Maven, Waters, etc.

Thanks to all, I use to buy a book every month, this year I was travelling a lot and was very bussy, so I was lazy with reading.... so I want to buy 6 or 7 books....i know most of the books released some time ago , but I did not see much about new books released this year... after I read the adviced books I will read reviews as mike ince advice me.

Maximum Entertainment by Ken Weber,
Chuck Hickock's Mentalism Inc 1 and 2 Are some of the best books, because they touch on so much more than tricks, they tell you why a mentalist does what he does and how to make the most out of simple things. These are multiple time reading books. Even if your not a mentalist these books are amazing!
