Just received David Regal's newsletter and he is about to release Restored Credit, a broken and restored credit card which is in his Approaching Magic book. He's giving subscribers a discount before it hits the shops.Very reasonable shipping anywhere in the world.

I like being a part of David's e-mail list because he only sends e-mails when he has something of importance to share.

Yeah - I received it late yesterday afternoon and ordered it within 10 minutes. If I trust anyone selling products in this business it is David Regal! Never received an item/effect that I didn't use and love.
Thanks! Jim |

Likewise - buying a Regal effect is a no-brainer for me. Ordered it straight away - my usual response to a Regal email...

The best part of this is, it's not a preorder. He actually has it and is selling it to his subscribers first. It looks great and I also ordered mine right away.

Ditto! The effect looks neat, and the price was right! My Paypal was hit within minutes. Way to go, David!
It would really be quite tragic

Look cool - anything to di**h at the end?
Obviously the heat is somewhere else. I must say though that the credit card looks less randomly "torn or snapped" and more like it very cleanly comes apart with equal jagged edges. I am a huge fan of David's and this looks great... and it would go well with my Extreme Burn. Great thinking.

I LOVE David's effects. Though- I agree with saysold1's above post- the card looks like it rips a little to easy and each side looks to symmetrical. On the other hand, the restoration part looks super visual.

Love David's effects, but I have to say, taking a pass on this one. It just looks too unnatural. Most people who own credit cards know how tough it is to break a card. It takes folding back and forth a hundred times before it actually breaks, and when it does, it's a straight line at the break, not a jagged edge. The handling shown in the vid is just too awkward. And unfortunately, the video cuts right at the point where a d**** is done, so you don't see that part of the handling. My opinion only.

I think it is a "don't blink or you'll miss it" piece of buisness rather than a formal "torn" and restored credit card but I think it will make people smile. It will suit certain performing styles more than others.

Hi Guys -
I do Restored Credit probably more than any other trick because a) it sits in my wallet, and b) I use a credit card a lot. I like the zig-zag edges in the prop, but you can snip them off and the trick still works. Other magicians have already shown me their handlings, and yes, some make a big deal about bending the card repeatedly, and VERY far (so you can see the stress in the plastic) before it "snaps". So all good points. As for switching out the prop at the end, I seldom do it, but I teach three very simple switches, all of which work well. In the demo, I do it when I look for the owner of the card at the end. I like that approach, but I teach a sneakier one as well. It's just a fast, very easy bit of visual magic that looks like advanced sleight of hand. I often do it at the table when the check arrives... All the best. |

I've just sent the money for this to David - pretty much everything this man brings out is pure gold. I can't wait to see it!

I have just returned from the post office, where, bathing in waves of hate from other Burbank residents, I mailed the initial shipment of Restored Credit, my new trick.
Right now it is only being offered to people on my mailing list, at a deep discount. I send out mailings infrequently, and when I do, they contain actual content. If you'd like to be on the list, email me at regal@regalmagic.com with the subject "Subscribe." |

Received "Restored Credit" yesterday - another winner from David Regal! To those saying that the credit card looks too "unnatural", or that it doesn’t look like you really tear the card, do you think that your audience actually believes that your tear up a playing card and then restore that same card? Or that their signed card really magically moved from a deck to a wallet? No, spectators will not think that you tore up a real credit card but I don’t think that's the point. The sudden restoration is the effect and this really does restore immediately, faster than most effects. And you can hand them an undamaged card just as quickly to examine. It's an effect that brings a lot of fun to your magic!
Quick, amazing, and funny to boot. I love it! Thanks! Jim |
