Thanks for your honest opinion and advice, Brian! I guess I'll be downloading this one tomorrow! Good luck at the wedding reception and let us know how it goes!

I stumbled on this thread a few days ago. I downloaded this today. Brilliant!! I have know Michael for a few years and I have always liked his thinking on routines. This was an unsolicited comment but I have to say this is really great.

Thank you for the kind comment, Ron. I'm glad you like it!
Here's a stage presentation idea for you: Blow up the balloon - explain the "science trick" of putting a piece of scotch tape on the balloon in order to push a needle into it without popping it. Then show how pushing the needle through anywhere else on the balloon pops the balloon. "That's science. But - (while performing repAIR) if I could make the balloon go back together.... that's magic." Just an idea. |

It appears they only have 5" round. This effect requires 9" round unless I am reading wrong.

I purchased and watched Repair today. Great effect!!! Simple yet very magical. Hihgly recommended.
I shared an idea I had with Mr Michael Kent and he thought it was very good and asked me to share it with everyone here. Using a sharpie you can openly draw a picture such as a smiley face on the front of the blown up balloon. YOu then pop the balloon and when it is restored you can have the same smiley face appear on the restored balloon thereby enhancing the visual retention of the effect. You can also find Qualatex 9 inch balloons of various colors and a variety pack of a 100 at balloonsfast.com Michael

Had the pleasure of performing repAIR last night at a wedding reception. It is my new opener. It just set the tone for the evening when the people at the tables just forgot their environment and would drop F-bombs at the sight of the restoration.

Not sure if it helps, bought my balloons the day before the wedding gig at walmart. Got about 8 bags of 25 assorted 9 inch balloons for .97 cents each. I was able to prep about 20 of them for the evening.

I will say I got a bag of Qualatex and they might be "too good" for the handling. Not trying to give anything away, but I seem to have an easier time with the restore with the cheap balloons.

Novel, simple, and worth the money.
I bought some cheapo balloons from "Wallyworld" as well that seem to do the trick. What is very noticeable and apparent to you may not be for others. I haven't bought any magic in a while but I had to pop my balloon on this one. Just my 2 cents... Mack

Still on the hunt for a 9" non-transparent balloon. Anyone found any?

Just bought this and watched it. I like it a lot. Well worth the price for the working performer. I'll head out in the morning to buy some balloons to practice.

I performed this today for my magic club's Saturday get together. Did it just before I left. Some of the really experienced guys seemed to have dropped jaws. Did it and left. I wish I had a mouse in the corner to hear the comments afterwords.
I still would like to find nontransparent balloons, but with proper hand and balloon management it hasn't been an issue at all so far. I'm using Party City balloons, and they have been great. Actually the Walmart balloons also worked just fine. Just pay attention to the position of your hands when you blow the restored balloon up, and it pretty much becomes a nonissue. Sammy

Did this one all weekend. It's great! I like to let the spec blow up the balloon as a convincer, and then tie it and give it to me. I then add the gimmick which was palmed and go from there. It works every time!
