With all of the disregard Netflix has shown for their core customer base recently, I'm no longer certain that I wish to contribute money to a company with such deplorable customer service. However, I had thought the idea of streaming movies directly to my TV was pretty cool.
Does anybody know of any other companies that would allow me to do this who may also give a legit crap about their customers?

Dunno, maybe hulu plus? Haven't tried it myself yet, but they have a free trial.

I'm confused as to what the "bad customer service" was.
As for disregard for their "core customer base," it would seem most of their customer base is in the streaming end now, which, if I understand things correctly, which I doubt, is where they are devoting most of their focus.

You're right about being confused there chief. 60% of their customers subscribe to the dual service of both dvd's and streaming. 60% of their customers, myself included, enjoy the convenience of being able to manage all of this on one site. These are exactly the customers who are being hurt by the latest change. 60% of their customers are directly negatively impacted!
As for bad customer service, part of it was laid out in the owner's damage control 'apology' letter. But they seriously have some of the worst customer support in general that I've ever seen. They make it a nightmare to get a hold of an actual human being who can answer your questions. There's no easily located support or service email. If you have a problem and aren't a master detective, you're screwed. If you are their customer, they just want you to shut up and open your wallet.
