Can anyone give me an opinion on this?

The advertising reads as follows: "The electric dove is a great
stage prop that appears to
be the real thing.

If you want to give the
illusion of using a bird in your
show then this is for you."
May every day be magic!

I just received an email from the "Magic Trick Store" and this is the first I was aware of any such prop. Looks interesting to me, but I have a prop room full of props that looked interesting, but I never use. The video looks good, and this may work on a stage, but I am wondering about using it at birthday parties and other similar venues.

Here is the link to the page I am referring to: http://www.magictrickstore.com/electric-......517.html

Thanks, Charlie

It is quite interesting and the price tag is very good.

I am wondering how good it is from birthday parties' distance too.

Dan Sperry has a different model on his site which is considerably more expensive, but comes with a DVD of his routine (which is terrific), plus lots of tips. Sperry's routine involves a transformation between a fake dove and a real dove.

The link I used awhile back doesn't seem to work now. You might want to reach out to Dan Sperry if you'd like more info. He's on the Café, under user ID Sperris.

A lot of times they are wrong. I sometimes use two rubber doves produced from a Casino box. I did it as a joke and would smash them and yell "It's not your turn yet!" then throw them over my shoulder. People thought they were real and would "OMG!" If handled correctly, it would fly[no pun intended] by people as a real dove.

They demo'd it on WPR - looks crappy and is quite loud. Looks like something you would see in a toy store or an airport souvenir shop. Yuck.

The demo at SEO made it look better but still...

I was quite disappointed without the need of the bad review.

the dove was noisy, and the wind action not really realistic.

I believe that if it was not too noisy and had a better action it would be a good item.

If the ball had gone three yards to the left, it would have been a goal.

I would much rather know how the wings fold when off. If it can be used for magic, it much be able to not have the wings extended. I use to do dove productions, the video looks very good, but the video is misleading as they only show the presentation part of the effect. Fire book already being held and such. If the wings are left sticking out, how could it be used in a live performance.

If you want something that looks just like a dov, buy a dove for half the price. This electric dove is not going to fool anyone into believing it is real. At $28.00 you are not going to get anything that looks like a dove to fool the audience. I have this by the way. I did not by it to substitute for a dove , but as a gag.

Not so impressed with the finishing of this dove. Actually jsut realized it's just a toy which can rotate when you hanging on ceiling. Even you can see the hole on the bodyside to hanging . So someone just put in good packaging and sell at much higher price.

Anyone serious about buying this is a sucker. They've been selling this flying "bird" forever and for a lot less than what these guys are selling for. These guys saw this bird, figured "hey, we'll buy a bunch of these cheap birds, package it as a dove and sell it to a bunch of suckers and make some money!" please guys, just look for it in a hobby, toy store or online and buy it for cheaper. It is not a "dove" it's a flying bird that happens to be white. They sell them in all different colours. They even sell some that actually fly for a bit in the air.
