An imaginary or invisible book. You tell them you want them to use their imaginations and imagine you have a huge book. The book of all knowledge. It details everything that has happened and everything that will come to pass. The participant goes through the motions of opening the book at any page, moving her finger down the page and stopping at any word on the page. She writes it down so there is a checkable record of the word selected at random from many thousands..
You get the idea. Paul. |

Paul,
Didn't you have an effect with an invisible book for sale at Blackpool? I'm sure we discussed it when I met Doug Dyment at your stand and I bought Mindsights. Best, Jarroy |

Mark Strivings has a no book book test using the SUC. Its in the book titled "The Unseen edition", I believe.
It is best used in a room where the audience doesn't know each other. But its very good. Contact Mark at markyapril@aol.com Best regards, Tony Razzano

I am unaware where I first came across it, I think possibly in Magick or an Al Mann manuscript.I know I didn't start using it at the time. Only about 3 years ago did I think to try it out AFTER a book test. I think it plays better that way than if used alone. Paul. |

"Isn't this "Tervil" from Anneman's Jinx? I saw it in Practical mental magic I believe." It probably is, Xiqual, and that may be where I came across it. I said it went way back. Mark Strivings has re-worked a lot of Annemann stuff and did a lecture on it. If I remember some of the lecture was on the IBM electronic ring site. Paul. |
