I don't know where they did that study at???
Because this has been the hottest summer in Texas in recorded history. We've had over 70 days that hit 100F. The hottest day being 117F. All lakes are down, some are down 20+ feet, some have dried up completely. Wild fires have been all over and taken many houses. But I'm glad the rest of you are all nice and cool. Randi |

Not sure why we would want to trust the Global Warming Policy Foundation.
Looking at the raw data they link to, the annual temperature anomaly for 2011 would make it the 11th warmest year since 1850, according to the HadCrut3 data set. (I may be misreading the file. Anyone else care to look?) The article linked in the OP argues that since none of the months of 2011 are record breakers, everything is hunky-dory. Not very sophisticated statistical reasoning, imho. The NOAA data in the link isn't broken out by month, and there is no annual calculation for 2011. Presumably, the link is simply incorrect. The NasaGiss data in the third link is consistent with the HadCrut3 data, suggesting that every month this year is well above the average of the historical data (this set starts at 1880), but is not record setting. July was "only" the third warmest on record; April and August were "only" the fourth warmest on record. No, this doesn't alleviate my concerns at all. John

Take a chill pill.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
