Got an interesting question which I thought I'd address here. You don't have to use a Joker. You can use any card you want to make up the gimmick. Meant to mention this on the dvd but forgot when we were shooting.

I love effects that go beyond just showing a DL to convince the spectator that a different card is going into their hands other than the card that is eventually revealed. The method on both of these are really great and I'm glad to see people enjoying the product.

Thanks, Ted. The funny thing about Corner is that the version on the dvd is the second version I came up with. I thought the first version was totally cool. But when I showed it to some of my trusted magic friends, they said weren't that crazy about it but loved the second version. Just goes to show you that getting input on your ideas is definitely important!

Don't be scared off by the idea of a download and build it yourself gimmicks.
One of my pet peeves is videos that try to sell you on the product AFTER you've already bought it. Paper Crane and Cameron don't waste your time like that. Cameron gives a brief intro, a full performance and then sits down with you to put the prop togethor. You will have no trouble and you can't really go wrong. These aren't finnicky little projects that you have to get exactly right to work. After building the gimmicks and running through the routine you get to see a couple more full performances from beginning to end. This really makes learning the routine easy. Thanks for sharing this with me Cameron. Great release. |

Newbie here (been lurking forever) so please be gentle.
Just picked up this DVD and really like both the effects. Was wondering if someone could make some suggestions for Corner on reworking the handling and the gimmick for us lefties? I guess via PM would be the way to go. Thanks Cameron for 2 really nice effects and everyone out here for making magic better. Andrew |

Hi, Andrew! Really glad you like the effects.
Hmm. That's a tough one. Because the other corner of the card has no index. I honestly don't know. I'm left handed myself but I do my card magic like a right handed person so I'm really no help. I'll have to think about this one...

Well I am playing with it and I think I can make it work. Biggest issue is that you have to come on top from the front and it seems less natural. I hope I didn't say too much. Cameron what do you think?

I'm very interested, but am wondering if anyone besides Cameron has performed this in public. What kind of reactions are you getting? Thanks for the reviews

I think most people are too embarrassed to perform thes in public...
Kidding. I will be perfuming Exposure at my lectures at Magi Fest this weekend.

BTW, in spite of what some people think, the street perormances in the trailer and on the DVD are real. We didn't coach the crowd. In fact, some of them were downright reserved and nervous at first. But they reacted huge to these tricks. And the reactions were real.
I know that people think people act differently on camera. And they do. But it's the opposite of what you think. Normal people who arent used to being on camera are nervous and guarded, especially with magic. You have to make them forget that the camera is there. It's actually more challengingvto get them to react. Unless you hire actors, of course.

At 1:37 Cameron does the folded card trick ( Corner ). The reactions from the audience is what we strive for when performing: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/2558 I like these points: There is NO SWITCH! Only one card is folded and tabled. The signed card is completely examinable at the end of the effect! |

We got really lucky when we taped these demos. Just happen to come across awesome, open spectators. For those who think people react better when cameras are present, actually, the exact OPPOSITE is true. Most people freeze up in front of a camera. The trick is to make themforrest the camera is there which, fortunately, these girls did.

Penguin are offering this in the Coll Box for just $4.95! Four-dollars-fifty!!! That's a steal for such a hard hitting visual effect that is easy to perform and brilliantly taught by the charming and charismatic Cameron Francis. Get a copy before they run out!
