I remember that Creative Magic sold off sets of these. Does anyone have a set for sale?

Christopher -

If you post that you are seeking a set of Bigger Wands, in the buy and sell area of the Café ("Let's Make a Magic Deal" is the heading for that section, which has sub-categories), you'll get offers from portion holders.

I have a couple of sets (because I'm a portion holder), but I'm not selling the extra set yet.

It should be noted that they are in high demand, and so they are selling for more than the original retail price. Expect to pay about $250-$300 for a set.

That's also the price they are going for in the "Surplus Magic Exchange" Group, and the "Trade, Buy and Sell your Creative Magic" Group, on Facebook.

And yes, the company stopped selling directly as of June 2011. At that time, they sold off the company to "portion holders" who invested a certain amount of money to get the remaining stock of all of their tricks and illusions, split up between them. So, the portion holders are the only people who are currently getting magic from Creative Magic (8 shipments, spread out between September 2011 and June 2013), and many of those portion holders are re-selling those items. Some items are selling for retail, some items are selling for below retail, and some items are selling for more than retail.

P.S. Also, portion holders were given a set of covers for the Bigger Wands. I've heard that someone sold a set of the covers, implying that it was a Bigger Wands set. Make sure that someone is selling you a genuine set with the wand pieces, bag, and covers.

Check with Jeff Jones at http://magicbackdrops.com/MagicBackdrops/Magic_Wands.html. Jeff sells the wands alone or with custom covers.

Hi Skip -

Bigger Wands are a different item from Biggest Wand (Creative Magic made them both). Jeff is selling the Biggest Wands, as you said.

My error - you're absolutely correct, Donald. Still, never wrong to give a buddy a shout out.

You can find them if you look around, but people who have them want far more for a set than the $145.00 that they originally retailed for from Creative Magic.

I explained "portion holders" in my post above.

The company closed down in a unique way, by selling off / splitting up their inventory to "portion holders" in June 2011. Certain magicians, illusionists, & magic shops bought into the portions until all were gone (there was a limited number of "portions of the company", based on what stock remained... all of the portions were claimed within a couple of weeks).

Think of it like a cake being split into pieces.

Portion holders are receiving the remaining stock, split up into 8 shipments / boxes (quarterly for 2 years). In June 2013, we will receive our 8th and final shipment / box, which includes a mystery illusion.

By the time we each get our final shipment / box, we'll have our full portion. As a portion holder, you were guaranteed at least one of each prop they made, and some props you might get in multiples. Some of their discontinued props, such as Arabian Framework, was not included in the portions.

Note - there is both text and videos on that page. After reading the information, feel free to watch the videos and click on other page links (like FAQs) for more information.

Also, here are some other sources talking about it:
