Does the shaker have to have its cap on the whole time? or can you still use its effect whilst the cap is off?

The cap is part of the gimmick. So it must be there... Actually if they can provide with non gimmick salt shaker will be good, allowing us to do more routine.

Mmm, it would be stronger if you can take off the cap...

Unrelated question, but I dread starting another thread for just one trick:

Where can I get an gimmicked twin of the shaker?

Please don't say, "Try a hardware store." I'm hoping one of you has run into it at a chain store and recognized it, or knows for a fact that some magic supply house sells them.

Thanks!

I think you mean "an ungimmicked twin of the shaker" , right ?

If I recall , once upon a time Vernet sold this effect with two matching shakers , one gimmicked , one ungimmicked.

You might luck out and find an old set sold at a magic club swap meet or on eBay , but as far as I know there really is no matching shaker in the real world.
