The candles I received are missing the tiny screws that fit into the small resevoir. anyone have any idea where to get these. I contacted zippo in bedford, pa and they sent me the screws that go into the flint mechanism of their zippo lighter. They seem too big.
thanks Chris |

You did not mention which brand of Multiplying Candles you are referring to, but Tim Star did away with using screws in his candles. He says they are not necessary.
Little screws can be purchased at hobby shops specializing in model building, and hardware stores that carry the speciality screw, nuts, bolts, washer, and hard to find parts. |

Brand as in Original Morgan, Harry Stanley from England, Magic Inc./Abbott's Morgan, Lloyd, Milson-Worth, Rings & Things 1, Merlin from South America, or India Junk?
How do you know you need screws, did you lose them? As some of the current models do not use a screw, it is just a pain and if you raad Ganson Routined Manipulation book, it tells you how to fill them by just putting the wick in lighter fluid or lamp oil and have it suck it up. |

I bought them second hand, and in the instructions they show screws. I read gansons routined manip. and youre right it does say that. I still want to find screws. The instructions had no maker listed. I imagine they all take about the same size screw.

Take them with you to a hardware store and simply try out the available machine screws. When one fits buy two (you're going to lose them).
I took the screws out of the MC sets and put them in a plastic container toward the day I might want to sell them. I have never used them as Bill has explained above.

I found that computer screws used to hold the fan onto a laptop, or to connect LOTS of different electronic components are PERFECT. You can get a case of 200 different size screws at radioshack for like 15 bucks!
