I want to open my act by making 4 coins appear.
I want to start off with seemingly empty hands. and produce 4 coins one at a time in a magical way. Iv seen versions where the 3rd coin you pretend to make it appear, but then point to the table and its already on the table. ( I really like that) Anyway, anyone have some good 4 coin productions that they could recommend I check out? Thanks |

I would look into Mirage et Trois by Eric Jones - even though it is based on 3 coins, you can easily add a fourth for the production sequence. The KKK (Three Klan Vanish) part of Mirage et Trois was inspired by Three Pieces of Silver from Rune Klan - also worth looking into for a coin production sequence. Three Pieces of Silver by Rune Klan and also The Magic of Rune Klan book are also excellent resources that come to mind. In Expert Coin Magic by David Roth, he describes a great effect called Flash Production with Four Coins that is worth a look.
I hope this information is useful to you. |

Check out the NYCMS series - vol. 5,6,and 7 are on productions, vanishes, and penetrations. Gallo has a few nice ones on there, I have a few, and Bertini has one. The Wishing Well on volume 11 is one of my favorites, there is a nice one using a purse frame by Roth on volume 14, and others scattered in the series.
S.E.M. (The Sun, the Moon, and the Earth) is a sun and moon routine unlike any other. Limited to 100 sets, here is the promo:

Have to echo the NYCMS DVDS, loads of great stuff in there from Doc and the boys. Bertini's production is just crazy! And Mirage et Trois is quite exceptional as well, truth be told. It's one of the most creative and complete coin effects of the last decade IMHO.
If at least some of these DVDs aren't on your magic shelf somewhere then you still got some real building to do IMHO. Just about anything you want to do is in there somewhere, with at least 10 different examples of how to get it done from some guys that truly know a thing or two about this business. -Mb

David Stone has some nice productions (his 2 DVDs on coins). He does that table point thing a lot as well and I hate him every time he gets me with it...even on video! But yeah, the NYCM DVDs are just packed full of stuff.

Hi Derek There's an old standard that's very convincing and easy. Producing multiple coins from a silk. David Roth illustrates it well. Great way to open IMO. Just depends on your stlye---whether you want to use a silk or not.
I'm currently working on a multiple coin production from LOW FP that looks very natural and convincing.

Danny Archer's handmade "Coin Card" gimmick will allow you to produce 4 half-dollars or quarters.
I remove some cards from a card case, insert the gimmick and insert as many cards as the space will allow. When removing the gimmick, I also remove the four cards that will be used for a "Matrix" routine. I pull off a card whilst at the same time sliding off an individual coin, until I reach the four coins required. Casually re-insert the depleted coin gimmick back into the deck. Voila! You are now ready for a wonderful reveal! "Coin Card" is available for less than $10.00, as I recall? |

As far as an easy way to produce four coins, there is a routine called Bye George in which the first phase is the production of four quarters, but half dollars can readily be substituted. This is about as easy as it gets and the coins come from a dollar bill.
Dr. Rubinstein makes a great list of references and I also love the Wishing Well! Those videos are full of great 4 coin productions and vanishes. The David Roth material is also very nice, and the mention of it above reminds me of the Free and Unlimited Production of Silver that he does - assuming you are not going to go into "finale mode" and produce far more than four coins - you can pick and choose a few of the locations from that routine from which to produce the four coins you need and continue. This, to me in some ways, is remniscient of The Salt Shakers by Albert Goshman. While we are talking about salt shakers, if you do not mind the use of props for production use, there are the Mikame Salt Shakers. |

I didn't really have a chance to come check out all the replies till now. Thanks a ton for all the advice! Ill be sure to check out the various options and see what I can apply my own flavor to
Id love to pick up all the NYCM DVD's.. Im just going to have to wait until I can get the extra cash. MB I tried your link and for some reason its not working :/ I do know, that I don't want any extra things to produce the coins (Silk, dollar bill, playing card etc), as of now at least. Ill have to work out something. Thanks again everyone |

There is a nice 4 coin production by Gallo on our website, free for you to read, enjoy, and learn. Check out that and two other routines in the Magic magazine article by clicking here: http://www.newyorkcoinmagic.net/coin_magic_seminar.htm

Take a look at 4-co pro by Rees McClintock. He is on palms of steel 3 or 4 with this I believe. It can also be found in his knucklebuster series. But be warned, it IS a knucklebuster!

You could always go with a classic handling of a four coin production.

David Stones real Secrets of magic volumes 1&2. He has one called Mullberry which is a 4 coin production from seemingly empty hands, and one called cash cash which is a four coin table production from 4 rancomly selected cards. This one is a great way to transition from a card routine to coins.

Also Lawrens Godon has a 3 coin production from a silk on his Moneypulation dvd that could easily be adapted to add 4th coin
