Scranton's Houdini Museum Director Dorothy Dietrich featured on The Travel Channel's Mysteries At The Museum.

Dorothy Dietrich of Scranton's Houdini Museum is to featured on the Travel Channel's "Mysteries At The Museum", October 18, 2011 at 9 PM and then again on October 19 at 12 AM.

The TV segment is about one of Houdini's most famous and publicized escapes, The "Daily Mirror" Cuff Escape.

In s recent interview Dorothy stated, "Not sure what will come out, as they filmed for over 7 hours straight. It could come out different than what I meant when I said it, depending on the cuts and editing. It was one of the most difficult TV sessions I have done. Because of the style of the show most of the time I was in complete darkness."

Some of the best minds in magic and escapes were contacted by Ms. Dietrich for input for the story including many who are on the Board of Directors of the Houdini Museum. Dorothy commented, "with that mix of experts they are not always going to agree with what I said on this show to the general public. Those consulted reads like a who's who of Houdini experts, Jeff Blood, Houdini family member, Dick Brookz Houdini Museum Administrator, Pulitzer Prize winning author of the biography on Houdini, Ken Silverman, and escape experts Norman Bigelow, Dick Brookz, John Bushey, Patrick Culliton, Chris Gower, Mick Hanzlik, Joe Laurer, Bill Liles, Steve Moore, and Fred Pittella. Even age old works on Houdini by Milbourne Christopher and Walter B. Gibson were researched. Houdini is one of my idols and saved my life. I hope I did him proud. It was more difficult than when I escaped from a straight jacket suspended from burning rope from the top of a parachute ride for the HBO Special called "The World's Greatest Escapes". Many consider her the leading female magician and escape artist in the world. She is the only woman to have accomplished the jinxed Bullet Catch, often called, "The stunt that scared Houdini".

I think the same episode is also the one about the Stanford Prison Experiment so I am definitely not missing this!

I did manage to catch the show. Interesting as I did not even know Akron Univeristy had a museum.

Dorothy's spot was great. It was face moving, visual and factual. One of the better pieces done on Houdini in recent years. It told the real work without tipping too much. Bravo!

I loved it. First two stories were prime areas of interest and the third involved my hometown!
