Steve Cohen, Joshua Jay, Eric Jones, and Todd Robbins will participate November 17 in "Beyond Amazing: Creativity and Innovation in the World of Magic," a free event at the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center in New York. The panel discussion will focus on such questions as where new ideas in magic come from, including how magicians develop their acts and how new effects are created for the magic marketplace. The panel will also look at what role magic plays in the realm of the broader expressive arts and whether it can remain relevant in an era when movies, video games, and the Internet offer heightened experiences that were not earlier available. Although the event is not primarily a magic show, some relevant effects will be performed to demonstrate topics at hand.
Here are the details: Thursday, November 17, 6 p.m. The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Bruno Walter Auditorium, 40 Lincoln Center Plaza New York City (best entrance is at Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street) Admission is free and is available on a first come-first served basis. ### |
