I am heading to Las Vegas and am planning on going to Denny & Lee's shop. Any others worth visiting?

Houdini's is in New York New York and Venetian, mostly pitch magic. Little to nothing for anyone who isn't an absolute beginner. Also magic shops at the Riveria and Stratosphere, a lot of pitch magic, but a bit more, still pretty beginner level stuff, but a bit more. Don't expect discount prices. Denny and Lee's is largely books and DVDs, and tons of lecture notes (great fun to browse through all of those), a few tricks and and pieces of apparatus, not like the Baltimore store. Still for a more advanced magician, the only real magic store in town.

Thanks for the input. I am looking forward to seeing Denny's new store. I will definitely make a point of looking through the lecture notes - a great suggestion.

Also be sure to go to Mac King’s show at Harrah’s… besides being very entertaining, it’s a lesson in magic by itself.
Don’t take insurance and big 6, 8 and the field are sucker bets... good luck, Bruce |

I always stay away from the shops in casinos, they are geared toward tourist and are pricey. If you can go off the strip, check the local yellow pages.

I spent a fantastic afternoon at Denny & Lee's magic shop yesterday. They have a nice mix of cards, coins, etc... as well as books, lecture notes and DVDs. The people in the shop are all very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in Las Vegas.

Did you get to see any magic while you were there?

Try your best to get to the Gambler’s General Store (it is actually owned by the USPCC).
Lots of books, tons of playing cards and plenty of eye candy! : 0

Avoid the hotel shops. They are overpriced and limited in scope.

I would very strongly recommend seeing Paul Vigil perform at INK, which is located at one of the Casinos whos name I can not recall. I have seen most of the major shows in Vegas during the past five years but this was really something special. The guys at Denny & Lee's can tell you the details. He performs once a week and it is a small parlor show. I had never seen it advertised so I owe my knowledge of the show to the guys at Denny & Lee's Magic Shop. I will always make a point of seeing Paul when I am in Vegas.
