Alain,
I have read previously on the Café that some creators of effects start out with what effect they wish the audience to see and then work out a way to create the desired effect. Others create a new slight or take a old one and pursue a new use or effect. What is your creative process for new effects or ideas for new shows? Thank you in advance for your answer Barney

Hi Barney,
I can answer your question with a post I made a few days ago on a different thread. Since it never got answered over there, I think it now becomes obvious that I was saving it for you! From Oct 28th, on the "TV" thread in this forum: One thing to realize, whether one is developing stuff for TV or not, is that one can do a lot with a little. and that would, I think, be one of the less-understood purposes of mentalism. that there is GREATNESS in the tiniest thing. one out of four can be amazing. six out of ten is still above average. an old person's mind works differently from a young person. there is a mandala of infinite possibilities that are obtainable. one can reach a state of mind where all ordinary mundane things become inspiring and amazing. and those tiny things are magified by "this purpose of mentalism." and then re-magnified. one revelation becomes two; becomes six... everything is everything... and everything is simply amazing. As abstract as the above may read, that IS how my mind works. I hope it makes some sense to you. And thank YOU for thanking me in advance, since I wrote it in advance! Alain |

Alain, I for one am envious of how your mind works. You are quite brilliant
I hold fond memories of earlier correspondence and exchanges. I cherish your creativity and the levels you take things to I still see images of meal worms inside a pocket watch/ cyclical card series and impossible manipulations with a spoon. Blessings my friend, Ron Dayton aka Kotah |

Incredible to hear from you old friend! Happy to know that your heart is in good health! My style has become much more minimal since the days of meal worms in pocket watches, he he! Blessings to you! Alain |
