Wow, that is short. No time to st a scene, or to establish an emotional relationship with the audience. My personal opinion on this is, that you might have only th time to make someone or something appear or disappear on stage or to present a very short penetration effect.
Try to contact well known illusion builders who could help you with this, but be ready to pay the big bucks if you really want a large thing !!! Good luck. Oliver. |

The real question is what kind of money you got to spend. anything is possible with the right amount of money.
Hans Klok did what ..3 or 4 illusions in that time frame the sad part is I firmly believe this cheapens the magic for the most part. turns it from an art form to see what I can do with lots of money. sure it can be said that performing a blast of illusions in a short period of time is cool Kirby Van Birch does this and I loved it. but his blast still had some hooks as well as it was better timed out. any who if you really need quick illusions instant babe modern cabinet chair production - hans klok- I don't know the actual name blammo box dekolta chair to name a few good luck

Is it to be a full presentation? Or a background element for, say, a commercial?
If it is only an element, there are some things that can be shown in their "finished" position that immediately register with people. Iconic images such as sawing or a levitation. If it's supposed to be a full presentation I would personally just as soon avoid doing it since there's inadequate time for development. |

I largely agree with Frank as this is extremely difficult to do well. I would find one simple effect that is instantaneous or that takes less than 5 seconds and spend the rest of the time setting it up and selling that special moment. I've done many commercials and believe me, it is extremely difficult to tell a story in 15 to 30 seconds but it can be done. Unfortunately, it requires excellent direction and focus.
It is an interesting challenge so if you can find a really strong instant vanish or production that you can spend 15 seconds proving before the climax, it could work. My personal formula would be 10 seconds to set it up, 4 seconds to pause, one second for the vanish than 5 seconds to go down stage to shift the focus back to you. If you ended on the prop it makes the people forget about you as a performer (which is a standard mistake magicians make) I call this technique a "clean up ending" where at the final applause cue there is nothing left on the stage for the audience to look at and remember but the performer. As I mentioned trying to tell a clean and simple story in 20 seconds requires absolute precision and efficiency. If there is one missed step it can kill the entire effect. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I would do a production from a tip-over trunk. But on the other hand, that's all I have.

Does it have to be a large illusion?
Some sort of smoke to silk or silk to rose production/transformation would be visual and quick, and wouldn't need a lot of build-up. Also, flash paper rose to real rose might work within the allotted time frame.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

A Fire Cage?
If done fast, it stays a great illusion.. Card Manipulation is also very popular for short TV appearances.. |
