The strongest reactions I usually get from magic on the street are usually from blockheading... but I really do not like to do that in an environment I do not control, so second would be rope-magic. People seem to like it because it is so very visual and because they can examine the ropes.
I have found that it is not very good for /drawing/ a crowd, though. It only seems like people like it once you've already stopped them with something else. |

I'm with Dougini Prohibition 2.0 rocks! And it a great way into introducing yourself as a Magician before you start the more advanced sleights with other tricks.
Also Any Ring Flight , I use Dave Bonsall's Revolutuion and it kills everytime ! |

Torch & restored and Coinvexed - both get strong reactions for me.

Subterfuge Magic System is my personal favorite. I use it by itself and as a tool with multiple other effects. It has unlimited applications, especially when combining it with other effects. The new version is out now and is much better than the original.

3rd degree burn, I always thought frozen would do better, but the burn is so stunningly visual.

I have not mastered a lot of tricks yet, but as I have already experienced, people love visual effects and those that seem to violate physical rules:
- card switch (black joker transforms to red joker instantly) - bill change - coin jumps from lower to upper hand - floating things etc These tricks seem very honest to the spectators eye - not like you were palming / hiding something. Even with my amateur skills (if I have them already) I get great reactions. |

Nothing beats doing an ungimmicked linking ropes/nightmare for me. Auto reset, so the performance is continuous.

In a street setting I noticed that direct simple tricks works best.
Like mentioned before, in hand montes are gems. But what maybe is more important the timing I perform it with. I like to stand still in the middle of the pavement and play with my cards, the moment I see somebody pay attention with there eyes I perform the trick. By doing this I prevent annoyance and can calculate how likely somebody enjoys the trick. Merlin |
