I must be doing it wrong... every time I try I wake up next to a cow.
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness...

Magnus, do you remember Tuesday Lobsang Rampa?
Supposedly a Tibetan Llama, smuggled out as a child - he turned out to be English but claimed after he fell out of a tree while photographing owls the previous incarnation of Rampa walked up and asked to take over his body, and he agreed. Relevance to this topic is he popularised astral travel and lived out his last years in Canada. |

I read all of Lobsang Rampa's books when I was a teenager. I thought the guy was great!
Oh, and the teleportation thing really works as described, except you never know for sure where you are going to wake up. |

I spent a good 3 months lieing in bed every night trying to astral travel when I was about 16. At least it was a break from what I'd been doing for the previous 2 or 3 years.
I discovered his books in the school library and believed every word of them. Now Bob, when you say you read all his books, do you incude Living With The Lama? While he is listed as the author, it was actually dictated to him by Mrs Fifi Greywhiskers. She had trouble typing with her paws. Lobsang Rampa was also big on auras, and you are most certainly the person who would know if it is he that popularised auras in the West, or if he just jumped on an existing craze? |

Destiny-
You know, I don't remember if I read "Living With the Lama" or not. It's almost fifty years since I read those books. I'd forgotten all about him until you happily mentioned him here. It brought back good memories. I don't think, though, that Rampa popularized auras in the West. Happy New Year! Bob |
