I know this is stating the obvious, but now it has been officially confirmed by a study conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University: those that watch Fox News know less than people who don't watch any news at all. Big surprise there.

" When told something people who are arrogant already believe, no matter how crazy it is or the source that it comes from, they believe it and tout it as the truth." Yes, I think that is what the report confirmed, just what you say. You are talking about fox news viewers right?

"...47% are able to identify the Occupy Wall Street Protestors as predominantly Democratic: 11% think they are Republicans. Viewers of the cable news on MSNBC are more likely to Think the Protestors are Republicans. Watching the left-leaning MSNBC news channel is associated with A 10-point increase in the likelihood of misidentifying the protestors."

Here's the News Release.

According to the latest results from Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind Poll, Apparently the University of Maryland published a similar result a year ago. I know nothing about the methodology in either study, and so can't comment on the plausibility of the results. John

The methodology is described at the end of the press release, on pages 3-8:

Didn't occur to me that it was a scroll bar (blush). FWIW I've never seen MSNBC, as it isn't part of our basic cable package. I get most of my news from the CBC. John

How do Canadians spell their famous 1-word inquisitive, "Ay" (pronounced as most people pronounce the first letter of the alphabet)?
Just curious now - sorry to derail the topic slightly...
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Comparing the wording of the original to the Huffington Post story, it's certainly easy to see how people who rely on The Huffington Post could be misinformed.
Not sure I buy the parenthetical "after controlling for...partisanship..." though. Does a random telephone poll of barely 600 people really give you a significant sample of Fox viewers who are neither Republicans nor conservatives?

In 1965, Fairleigh Dickinson University acquired the Wroxton Abbey, now home to Wroxton College, from Trinity College, Oxford becoming the first American university to own and operate its own campus in England, and the first to own and operate a campus outside the United States. Fairleigh Dickinson consists of four academic colleges. Its Silberman College entrepreneurial studies program has been rated as one of the best in the United States. In 2006, The Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship was ranked the 7th undergraduate entrepreneurial school in the nation by Entrepreneur Magazine and The Princeton Review. So what's so "rediculous" [sic] about FDU? Or have you just got something against the private sector and entrepreneurs?

Depends on what news is news, doesn't it?
For example, I'm guessing that neither Fox nor MSNBC reported on this happening yesterday: Quote:
