Thank you...I really appreciate all the feedback and advice.
I have locked the set for this year and cannot ( or should not! ) change anything more at this time. Upgrading flowers is definitely on the plans for next year. Have three rehearsals and one dress before opening night!!! So just a little more time to polish it. Believe it or not...I am pretty much going to achieve the routine I outline at the beginning of the thread. The only magic that survives from previous years is the 3 Person Cabinet. So I am very, very pleased to have updated my act! I am using: --Hugmagic's idea for 'Rose Boutonniere to silk'. (gleaned from another thread) --Wizard Journal's production technique for Sleeve Bouquet. (Wows compared to what I used to do) --DynaMike's advice on the Abbot body holder. (OK, Abbot's body holder compacts, but the added confidence is worth it!) --Dollar store Rose that I deconstructed/reconstructed w/ ping pong ball to make my own 'silk back to rose' gimmick. Cannot thank The Magic Café enough! This is a great forum.

Bill's recommendation of Pat Page's Bouquet production is really good suggestion. It takes some practice but is well worth it. If I don't use this production I use Richard Hughes' Hoopla Production. I have bee doing it for the past 7 years ad it always gets a good reaction. Here is a link to a thread on The Café about the Hoopla Production (you will see a link to a YouTube video of this production).
BTW, Richard also sells fabic bouquet holders with the elastic. Jimmy

Hi,
I did modify my original routine based on feedback and info offered. The Wizard Journal offered a bare-handed three bouquet production. Was this Patrick Page's? Dunno. But it killed when I demo'ed in front of the wife. So I am using that method for producing one bouquet, not three. So the final set is: Drosselmeyer enters. Greets Mom and Dad. Introduces Nephew. Removes Cape and folds. Hand to Nephew. (aka--Assistant) Bare handed production of Bouquet (Patrick Page technique?) Hand bouquet to Nephew. Nephew gives bouquet to Clara. (foreshadows Clara and Nutcracker in Act II) Call all the kids over to sit on floor for a magic show. Nephew returns to my side with Cape. Perform a magic Show for Kids. Remove Top Hat and hand to nephew. Vernet Flowers -- drop in Hat Buttoneer to silk Silk covers Hat Flowers vanish from Hat transform silk to rose Rose is returned to buttoneer. Ask two parents at the party to go off stage for my "Box from the Orient" (3 Person Cabinet) Produce 3 dancing dolls from Cabinet w/ fire/flash Thanks!

Hit it! For some reason this is my MO. Bad Dress Rehearshal...good performance.
Opening night went well. No issues on timing or routining. Artistic Director said it was "Very Nice! Very Smooth" Thanks for the help and advice Guys! @Spellbinder...yes, absolutely right. Practice Practice Practice! Spent today in front of the video camera and practicing with the music. This helped a lot. I threw out the Abbot's body load and made my own this week. Re-worked my silk-rose gimmicks. Cabinet production drew good feedback. But, you know what killed? Cresey throw coils! Wow'ed them. Had some problems on some angles and I willl need to fix them, but otherwise...everything went well!

That's why they call it rehearsal. The show is what matters. Congratulations. You worked through it. I can't wait to see the video clip. Spellbinder's technique of making realistic flowers is awesome. Glad it worked out for you. And the coils doesn't surprise me. Sometimes it's the simplest things that create the "wow" moments.

Hey Everyone...Just purchased Richard Hughes' Magic Café Lecture on Sleeve Bouquets. Entitled: "Feather Flowers. Flash...Color. New Exiting Ways to Use Your Sleeve Bouquets" Richard presents some very practical information and demonstrations. There is one bare handed production in his attached demonstration videos that will simply blow your socks off. Highly Recommended!!!

@Dynamike . . . Sorry for the ambiguity, I meant DVD Lecture! Richard's DVD records his lecture at the Magic Castle.
