Hi John, hi Tony,
thanks for your help. I skipped the comment at alakazam :-/ |

Patrick, if I remember correctly, there were also two sizes available when it first came out. If that interests you, it might be something to ask Peter about.

With a little thought you can make gimmicked cards that the spec can pick up after you slide them across the table. I made some that work great but Mozique's are usually more versatile to use in any environment. If you're working table to table at a restaurant you might be able to use a set of examinable cards like these. I confess I built them after reverse-engineering how DB might have made his (if he were to gimmick his cards). They work just as well, though I could be wrong about DB's method since it's unpublished. I haven't used them outside my home; building them was all about the fun of problem solving. I do find value in those types of thinking exercises and so long as you don't sell the method once you've cracked the secret I see no problem with it. Reverse-engineering is just a brain exercise - it's fun and of some value but it isn't what guys like DB and his crew do to make magic happen. Originating a fine presentation and finding a good method is what separates the men(talists) from the boys.

Tony: Yes, indeed! Another size would be great
I will check it. Thanks again Mike: I've tried to make the gimmicked card too, but I have had problems with the pens (I've tried Sharpie and Edding). They were not smudge proof. Any ideas? Best wishes, Patr!ck |

Well, we're in Penny but I think the topic of smudge-proof pens can be covered here. I used blank index cards cut to size and wrote with a Sharpie. I didn't have any problems with smudging. However I don't carry the cards in my pocket where they can get all schmutzy. When I do carry small packets of cards, like ESP cards, I keep them in a thin vinyl wallet with clear plastic windows like what packet tricks usually come in. If you were to write with a sharpie on plastic coated blank cards, heat and moisture might eventually cause some smudging if they're kept in your pocket.
A note to readers: no, I won't detail how I made my cards. Please don't PM about it; it makes me feel awkward turning you down. You can figure it out you clever fox.

I recall owning an effect like this almost forty years ago. This is NOT a new concept in gimmicked cards.
Good thoughts, Bob |

Nope, I've owned at least 3 other effects using this with playing cards too.

Hey Mike: I've used blank Playing cards like 'decisions'. Perhaps that's the problem. I will try it with blank index cards.

I've used permanent "Magic Marker" brand markers on playing card stock. Once it is dry it does not smear or smudge.
While not the same type of gimmick, another interesting application of a similar concept was Phil Goldstein's "Symbol Simon." Good thoughts, Bob |

I hope someone finds out what this is all about. It would worry me if it were a direct ripoff of Mozique's 'Decisions'. It would worry me even more if it were in fact a direct ripoff of my own 'No Terror Principle', which also concerns 50/50 choices and features no props or gimmicks at all. I have published this item, but only in one set of COPYRIGHT lecture notes made available at Tabula Mentis VI (and not currently available, in case anyone was going to ask).

I've found out a little and my opinion is it is a direct ripoff of decisions.
It is a pdf on how to construct what is shown on the site. What is displayed to me looks exactly like decisions does it not? I have not purchased this but comn it looks like decisions. If what is shown is not what you get then I'm wrong. John |

The ad looks exactly like a ripoff. The fact that no author's or creator's name is mentioned is a dead giveaway - especially if you consider that he is throwing in David Blaine "Secrets" to boot.
Good thoughts, Bob |

I don't understand why there is a question at all.
EVERYTHING about this site screams scam and rip-off. Really no need to buy it and check in my opinion. Report it. Close it down. Buy it from Alakazam and be happy. Best, Lexa |

Earlier this year I purchased a headline prediction from what appears to be the same guy by the look of the website. It was crap.
( And nothing new neither.) |
