I am a very picky person when it comes to purchasing products--particularly magic apps; but I knew I had to purchase this when I saw a video of it! The problem with most magic app is that the phone or another "person" does the magic and NOT the performer. I feel like I lose a bit of "magicalness" when a phone somehow detects the selected card on its own, or another "person" magically reveals a card, all while I stand on the side. What sets this app part is that YOUR OWN recorded voicemail is played to reveal a chosen card. You can say whatever you want! This most certainly focuses the magic on the performer, using the phone as a medium to facilitate in the magical experience. It can also be used as a quick effect when a friend asks you to perform something on the spot, or as a backup revelation in case something goes awry in your card routine. The problems with this app is that the instructions ask the app owner to input "your name" onto to voicemail log. This is a bit silly as you cannot call yourself to leave a message with the same phone (assuming you own only a cellphone). This can easily be fixed by inputting "Home" as the voicemail log (of course, assuming that you own a home phone, as well as a cell phone). Another problem is that the app is not well hidden. It is not like IForce where I can freely lend the phone to a friend to use, or when a little cousin of mine snoops around my phone; and not worry about them finding out the instructions of the magic app. In addition to that, one MAJOR problem is the terrible wallpaper set-up. I don't want to give out too much (even though I am sure a lot of you might figure it out)--but it is nowhere as clean as the IForce in cleanly opening and closing the app in front of the spectator. This can be overcome by going into the voicemail without showing the spectator. Despite the problems, I still think this is a GREAT magic app. A card revelation that utilizes a natural and ordinary function of a phone that doesn't steal away all the spotlight from the performer. I give it 4/5 stars |
